Jack was top goalscorer out of the hong kong 7's tournament last year. But I would have thought they'd want him to play more of a CAM role. Harry McKirdy? I see, dont know much about him, only seen him play once. And i've never heard of Tom Leggett if im honest. Will be an interesting.

Will be an interesting. I'm sure others would have a better insight, but I think McKirdy is more of an attacking mid but could play up front. Leggett recently signed a professional contract after leaving Southampton along with Isaac Nehemie . Edited May 20, 2014 by packoman

theboyangel
So our young Lions made quick and easy work of our group stage opponents in the Hong Kong Soccer 7s - three games, three clean sheets (remember them!) and six goals. Rob182
I'm guessing the Johnson that's been scoring is Daniel Johnson? I'd kind of written him off, as Gardner always seemed the better prospect and he's only been half decent when he's played for us (obviously injuries have played a part in that). Johnson must be getting to the age that he needs to break through, surely?

I think he's only 21, which is still young to break into a Prem League midfield spot. I like him, has got a good engine and decent left peg - maybe could do with a full season out on loan to get that competitive experience under his belt. Brumstopdogs
Good to win the shield then and some decent performances by the sound of things. Hopefully some of our youngsters can learn from this and take it into the first team.
Popular Post rodigan
was at all the villa games in hk as usual.... in terms of talent, jack and DJ stood out head and shoulders relative to others in the tournament... despite losing to sunderland, in a game where we missed a penalty, and had about 80% possession, there was no reason why we couldn't have won the whole thing... BJ sets up a team to win the tournament and to play sevens - very few of the other teams do that... the experienced players make all of the difference - jack, josh webb, DJ, janoi, jordan lyden and even henry cowans... you could tell they'd played there before and they knew how to cope with the format and the heat... villa were very good about finding time for the new young lads as well, khalid abdo and harry mckirdy - mckirdy looks tiny, but clearly knows where the goal is... as far as where the talent lies, janoi is a big solid unit at the back, jack and DJ have that magic touch about them...
