Will be interesting to see the line-up tonight, I think the front three will be three from Wilson, Moore, Lynch, and Kellyman, Broggio might have been involved but I think he's been injured.

Midfield will likely be three from SImpson, Alcock, Barnes, and Pierre, I think sometimes Kellyman plays as an attacking midfield so that could be an option, a shame that Travis Patterson has been out injured, not sure when he's due back, although if he was fit good chance he would be with the first team with Kadan Young.

Defence is probably where they will think they can get to us, we've conceded far more than any other team in our U18 league.

We should be favorites though

If we do we win then we will play Southampton at home in the next round.

The youth scene in this country and the world is crazy now. Its getting out of hand and hard to compete.

You have:
Carney Chukwuemeka thinking it would be a good idea to throw away his place on the fringes of being in the Villa 1st team to battling it out with the Chelsea U21 squad.
Man City splashing out 2 million + on a 15 year old striker from Sheffield United (Kylan Midwood)
Arsenal are giving 15 year olds PL/First team debuts to try and keep them  (Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly) after losing one of their best talents(Omari Hutchinson) to rival Chelsea
Real Madrid splashing out £60 Million for 16 year old Endrick Felipe

Will it definitely go ahead tonight in the freezing temps? I suppose if at villa park shouldn't be a problem.

Simpson showing some great touches, good through ball for Wilson's goal, set up a good chance for Pierre just before that that was cleared off the line and looking good in general.

Simpson is the Scottish Luka Modric

Hard to judge how far this team could go given the poor standard of the opposition. It was one way traffic for 90 mins. 5-0 flattered Brentford. Our forward line looks better than two years ago, midfield not as good given we had Carney and AJ, defence fairly similar probably. Still have players to come back like Feeney and K Young (if they are not involved in the first team). Plenty of encouraging signs anyway.

Quick mention about one of the weirdest things I've seen from a referee - Brentford played the ball forward and the ref caught it instead of moving out of the way. He then gave Brentford an uncontested drop ball in the Villa half even though all the Brentford players were in their own half and the ball was going through to the Villa defenders.

The team from two years ago was basically our U23 team, results were up and down at that level but they were doing well considering they were so much younger than most other teams and even when they lost they still for the most part played great football so the huge promise was always evident win or lose, so we were rightly one of the favorites to win the FA Youth Cup from the start.

Whereas our team this year is mostly the team that we're playing in the U18 Premier League and they aren't doing great, albeit with some promising signs, PL Cup, and U16s playing an age group up; there's some good promising individual players and we should be capable of giving most a good game, but we won't be one of the favorites this year, next game against Southampton will be tough, if fit no danger of Feeney and Kadan Young missing that one, would good if we can get Travis Patterson back by then as well.

The team from two years ago played Burton Albion who play at the same level that the Brentford team we beat today play at, and they won 9-0, and comfortably beat much better teams on route to the final, basically they were much too good for U18 football, should have beaten Liverpool by more as well in the final itself, Aaron Ramsey and Chukwuemeka probably the main difference between that side and what we have available now, but easy to forget how good Barry was on the left hand side, Brad Young too, and Kesler-Hayden was a major attacking threat, and then you had the likes of Bogarde who could bring it brilliantly out of defence.

Another big difference between this year's team and the one that won the competion is that this year's team is made up of a lot players that won't have played together coming through the age groups as most of them signed for us around the age of sixteen, Wright Man City, Triston Rowe West Brom, Smith Dundee United, Munroe Chelsea, Simpson Hearts, Wilson Rangers, and Pierre from Bristol Rovers, whereas most of the team from two years ago had been playing together from a very early age in our academy, so not only were they good individually but also had a good understanding as a team.

It was a really good team performance; the shape, the way they moved the ball, their movement off it - sure there are some very talented players, but it's not a team with a handful of stars like the one that won the Youth Cup a couple of season ago - it's a really clever, efficient unit who complement each other really well. I like the look of them as a team and I thought they were sensational at times tonight.

Arjan Raikhy was brilliant in the side 2 years ago too with his passing and mopping up.
Even tho that midfield was young they also had a physical advantage

If as many players from our current U18s are doing as well in two years time as some of the players from our team from two years ago doing then they will be doing well.

Kesler on loan at Championship level, Bogarde part of our first team squad when fit and will probably go on loan to the Championship, Chukwuemeka big money move to Chelsea, Aaron Ramsey one of the most important players for one of the better teams in the Championship, Louie Barry on loan in League One, Chrisene playing in Scottish Premier League, Tommi O'Reilly on the periphery of our first team squad, then you've got the likes of Raikhy and Seb Revan who would get into the current U18 team.

All that's not to take away from the current U18s, it's just that the team from two years ago was particularly exceptional, they had already won the Floodlit Cup together, then went on to win the FA Youth Cup and did so in style, and they were all already playing an age group up for our U21s, of the team that won the final seven of them were England youth internationals and another two were Dutch internationals.

All that said we do have a lot of very promising players in our U18s at the moment, if we can get them all fit and available at the same time then we should capable of giving anyone a game, was impressed with Lynch when he came on looks another exciting player, if Broggio had have been fit probably would have featured as well, Southampton will be tough but with the likes of him, Feeney, Barnes, and Patterson to come back only going to get stronger.

Was also impressed with Moore, seems to be going under the radar but he's having a good season, seven goals so far and I think he's been playing mostly out wide.
