U18's kick off at Spurs @ Midday, Dont think its live anywhere?

Team news should be out shortly

Anybody not involved that should be? Might give a clue if they'll be in the squad tomorrow

Before today's game West Ham were top of the league fifteen points clear of second placed Spurs and twenty-four points clear of us, so was expecting a very tough game, not sure why West Ham are that good, could be that they're playing players that really should be playing at U21 level. Seems we fielded what we thought might have been a stronger defence to keep the score down but obvioulsy that didn't work, although scoreline might have been worse had we played the usual U18s.

This is actually the sixth time that Smith has started for the U18s this season in the league, and in all but one of those six games they've conceded three or more goals, so today even with him and Feeney playing still looked a difficult game, unless Feeny was going to make the difference by himself.

Smith and Kerr probably played this game also with Tuesday's FA Youth Cup tie in mind, give them some practice with the players they will likely be playing alongside in that game, but if we're to have any chance could probably do with having Simpson, Kadan Young, and Wilson available.

Absolutely smashed to pieces 2-5 by West Ham . With our 2 best central defenders starting. We are struggling to get any consistency

Its the taking part that counts

I hope we're able to put out a decent side on Tuesday, Simpson, Lynch, Moore, and Wilson didn't play over the weekend, Wilson didn't play last weekend either, Broggio was injured before Christmas don't know if he's back yet, him and Lynch might not have been involved anyway as still U16s, but they have mostly been playing with our 18s, so would be in contention, especially if we had a few injuries.

Patterson and Burchall big enough misses as it is, not sure what's going on with Patterson's injury, he hasn't played since last season, yet another one of our youngsters out for a lengthy spell, hopefully back soon.

Would be good if Kadan Young is allowed to play as well, I guess that's up to Emery.

This game won't be easy, Southampton team looks strong, Kamari Doyle, Tyler Dibling, Dominic Ballard, Jimmy-Jay Morgan, Jay Meghoma all highly rated, a lot of their team already playing at U21 level and doing well, Chelsea paid £1.5m for Dibling in the summer, Newcastle wanted him as well, only went back to Southampton because he couldn't settle at Chelsea, our team looks strong as well but truth be told I think they might be slight favorites, one this is for sure it's going to be a lot tougher than the Brentford game.

Getting a real schooling now from Southampton. We dont have the midfield needed to control a game. 2 years ago we had Raiky Chuk and AJ along with Lindley in the central areas.  We are just a team of individuals today who have lost their individual battles. Shame but thats knock out football for you.
