If he was at a 'big six' club he'd have 20 caps by now, whether he'd come through the under 21s not.

yes and as long as southgate is in charge our players know this. he needs to get gone ASAP or players (if they're keen on international football) will look for a move. aside from city, konsa plays plenty of minutes for any of the other scum 6 sides

When I was growing up Villa were a bit six club.

We need to shed the inferiority complex. We are a big club and we are acting like it.

Called him up, following a clamour for him to do so, but left him watching that garbage on the bench. Ezri's the new Jack!

He plays his favourites despite them stinking the place out and rushes kids like Lewis and Palmer into the team, because of who they play for. How many tournaments will he lose with this latest so called "golden generation" before the FA show him the door? Fully merits the boos he gets at Villa Park.

Terrible all round from Maguire. Abysmal pass, he then goes to the ball instead of following the other player, then makes a clumsy challenge when the player is actually dribbling away from goal! Actually abysmal.

And Dion Dublin, might be an OK bloke, but he's always been dumb af.

You play a high line, you need a back line with recovery pace. So to play Maguire and leave both Konsa and Tomori on the bench is just foolishness. Southgate lacks the conviction to really create the best team. The attack he lined ip with was good, but having Trent play in the centre of the park when we needed someone to drive through the middle. Trent spraying the ball around from that deep inside right position (inverted fullback) is so effective.

Southgate is gutless!

that was the other crazy thing for me last night, he cant / wont play TAA in his liverpool position because he leaves us exposed in defence, so instead he shoe horns him in to central midfield where he's never played in his liverpool life and then at the same time finally grows a pair of balls and pushes the fullbacks up

TAA should have been playing the same role as Lewis but on the right, his natural position, he got it wrong twice

Lets be honest, Ezri was only called up by Cuntgate because Dunk was injured.

There is no chance in hell he will be in the England squad again unless a complete catastrophe with injuries (although that might actually not be a catastrophe if it means both Maguire and Guehi are injured as they are both Shite)

I doubt this will happen but would be great if Emery gets on the phone to Cuntgate and tell him to stop wasting resting/coaching time with our players if they are not getting mins.

I felt Lewis was getting in Grealish and Fodens way. As one was playing the CAM and they both like drifting from the left flank to the middle. And Lewis was always taking up that inside left cam position. We needed an overlapping fullback on the left. On the right Trent plays deeper as an inverted fullback so he has more time and space to display his impressive long passing.

Also Saka was so wide there was no space for Walker to attack. We ended up looking like a back 3 with 3 cams on the left / centre left area. And no wing backs.

The only defence i give Southgate is that he didn't have any specialist left backs to call on.

The less our players plays international football the better it is for Villa.

This is a huge win imo

Yes I am Villa biased. Yes I am selfish.

Had It been up to me none of our players would go on international duty. An absolute waste of time and pointless games.

It's not pointless and a waste of time for our internationals who actually get caps though. This was for Konsa, Southgate could at least have capped him!

What if he picks up an injury? Added fatigue?

The less caps the better.

I was thinking that when Watkins had to really stretch for the Foden through ball last night.

I really like seeing our players represent England and other nations, but imagine us without Watkins for a couple of months because of something he did while with England.
