On today’s episode of fun with flags we talk about the Ukrainian flag’s homage to the Swedish flag due to their heritage from Viking Scandinavia or more specifically Roslagen (spelling?) in IKEA-land.

Russian oligarch Alexander Subbotin has died.  He had a hangover and went to a Shamen who treated him with a poisonous toad.  That caused a heart attack which was unsuccessfully treated with herbs.

That all seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Wrecked Russian fighter jets are being found with rudimentary GPS receivers "taped to the dashboards" in Ukraine because their inbuilt navigation systems are so bad, the UK defense minister said.

Speaking at the National Army Museum in London on Monday, Ben Wallace commemorated those who died in World War II and called Russia's invasion of Ukraine "senseless and self-defeating."

He also said there was evidence suggesting Russian military hardware was being pushed to breaking point by the invasion of Ukraine.

"'GPS' receivers have been found taped to the dashboards of downed Russian Su-34s so the pilots knew where they were, due to the poor quality of their own systems," he said.

"The result is that whilst Russia have large amounts of artillery and armor that they like parading, they are unable to leverage them for combined arms maneuver and just resort to mass indiscriminate barrages."

Oh god, it mentioned Uber and proved it doesn't actually understand Uber's algo at all

Lets just say they appear to be using the DELTA algo not the Uber :D

 Uber’s new dial-a-missile-strike service.

Was always a matter of time I guess.

So on May 9th Russian state TV aired some sort of concert where they praised all the heroes from the war, it's just that amongst other things, they used a picture of Bonnie and Clyde to show Russian soldiers

Russian War Report: Russia accidentally honors Bonnie and Clyde during Victory Day celebration

In another show commemorating Russian troops they showed a US soldier from Guam, holding a US made carbine rifle, wearing US dog tags, in a US uniform with palm trees in the background.
