VT Supporter sidcow Posted March 12, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted March 12, 2017 I'm sure there must be another thread on this somewhere but blowed if I can find it. So, what the hell is going on now? I thought it hard to top the recent weirdness but no idea what they are running out to now or why.

Stratvillan
Starting to annoy me now. Lots of music blaring so no one sings, then game kicks off and it's silent. Go back to the silent movie theme from the 80s.
wilko154
I get that they are trying to create an atmosphere prior to kick off but playing the music to get the crowd singing Conor Hourihane seems strange to me.
hippo
I think we should have a little jingle for when we score.
mattyvilla
I thought it was a lot more positive on saturday with the atmosphere at walkout
VT Supporter Stevo985 Posted March 13, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted March 13, 2017 The 70's porn song that Elphick had chosen was terrible so it's a positive that they've changed that. That Hourihane song though... it's not for me. It's fine as a chant for him on his own, but to walk out to it sounded like a night at the darts. VT Supporter Popular Post Stevo985 Posted March 13, 2017 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted March 13, 2017 Also, saw a few people on Twitter asking Dr X for goal music to be played at VP. I can't put into words how much I would hate that. It's awful.
Popular Post Tommo_b
Should play the shattered glass that Stone Cold Steve Austin came out too, would get the crowd and team pumped

Say want you want about General K, but one good thing he did was react to the backlash he got over that music and made sure it didn't happen again!
Raver50032
I don't mind 'Fanfare For The Common Man' as a piece of music. But it's very old school for 2017. Would have worked better in about 1984 I think. Nuneaton Borough used to come out to that in the early 1990s. It doesn't need to be a piece of music with a song... All this loud rock music people clamour for is all well and good, but you can't make out the words and the highly strung guitarish bits get slushed into din because of the unimpressive speaker units we have. A good, upbeat, instrumental tune of some sort (trance music even) would be better than trying to murder a rock song through the PA. We need a toe-tapper, a foot stamper or a hand clapper piece of music. Not din.
Ginko
Iron Man by Sabbath. Great tune, instantly recognisable, dare I say even iconic intro, even if we only get people singing 'I am iron man' it'd be atmospheric, good thematically to get the players and fans ready for the game and by arguably the best band Birmingham has produced. And obviously Geezer is a massive Villan, Ozzy too, maybe. No brainer for me. Edited March 13, 2017 by Ginko

I think people over think the entrance music, I couldn't give a ****. I'd be happier I reckon if we didn't enter to any music at all. Can any of our older generation tell me when that became a 'thing'? I can vaguely remember back to 92, but I don't remember hearing anything then? I think it became a thing with the invention of the premier league?
dont_do_it_doug.
@KHV sounds about right yeah. I think people talking about 'tradition' when it comes to walk out music are off base. If anything the more absurd the better. Gangnam style?
