Anyone know what "Lexit" means

What's Lexit and why is everything just a series of dreadful portmanteaus now?

It's the left-wing case for Brexit.

The idea there's a left-wing case for Brexit is… imaginative. Have they seen the smile on Jacob Rees Mogg's face? He looks like he's about to be served a seven course dinner.

Yeah, it's not a majority view. Most left-wing figures in politics, journalism, academia and trade unionism are very critical of Brexit. But it's a significant minority view and one that dominates in the Labour leadership. Left-wing attacks of the EU have a long political heritage and include some much-loved figures on the left, like Tony Benn. They're not without content either. There are some powerful left-wing critiques of the project. (more on link)

Few years old now, but the whole thing sums it up in an easily digestible way

Cribyn ?

Yes, Bernard 🤣

"Cribyn" is a mountain in the Brecon Beacons with an elevation of 2608 feet.

It's the only word that fits in the whole English language to the specifications you supplied.👍

I don’t understand onlyfans. How is there enough people willing to pay money for naked chicks when there’s billions of naked chicks for free on the internet already?

Can’t put a price on voyeurism and the feeling of exclusivity.........or apparently you can, $7.50 per month........

Lexit is almost not there as a belief. It describes the left wing argument against the EU from an anti-neoliberal position but as the years have gone on the EU have been as pro-worker as pro-corp so the argument is almost non-existent now. Some people aren't able to grasp that while Corbyn was previously anti-EU (along with people like Ian Dunt for example), they were on balance pro-EU when the question was asked about leaving. In Corbyn's case it was because he said that the EU stops the Tories from ripping up all of the worker protections we now enjoy. .e.g

Oh look, it's exactly what he said would happen:

Anyone saying Corbyn was a lexiter clearly isn't dealing with reality.

Oh hey, here's another thing he warned against that all the 'sensible people' ignored

Lo and behold

It's Welsh, I've been up it and appropriately I was dithering at the top because I was very cold.

I agree with pretty much your whole post, but on this bit - eh?!

Pretty much everybody said that there would be checks without that (just like there would be outside the Single Market, which he wasn't so keen on), apart from the hard-core Tory throbbers in their state of denial.

Who are these "sensible people" that you thought were ignoring probably the most obvious point of this whole endeavour?

Anyone who said there wouldn't need to be a customs union who are considered sensible by the commentariat. e.g.

Theresa May is "not considering" Jeremy Corbyn's plan to remain in a customs union with the EU in order to secure cross-party support for a Brexit deal, Downing Street has said.

Number 10 said the prime minister has been "absolutely clear" that the government is opposed to such an idea, stressing "we must have an independent trade policy after Brexit".

No-one who opposed or even some who supported a customs union warned that the current state of play was going to happen. Corbyn was the only one so forthright to say that "obviously there will have to be a customs union" as if it's unconscionable any other way.
