Some polling quoted in a Financial Times story (paywall) by Jim Pickard helps to explain why Labour might be keen to delay the election until November. If Johnson were to go to the polls after 31 October without having delivered Brexit, support for the Brexit party would double, the poll suggests. Pickard writes:

An ICM poll suggests that support for the Brexit party would double from 9 per cent to 18 per cent if an election takes place after Halloween.

The poll, commissioned by Represent Us — which is pushing for a second Brexit referendum — found the Conservatives’ lead over Labour would evaporate in those circumstances.

The ICM poll suggests the Tories would beat Labour by 37 per cent against 30 per cent in an October election, while the two parties would be neck and neck on 28 per cent in a November poll.

The general point is unsurprising, but it's useful to see numbers.

So an election held a little later would help Labour in this respect as well as student votes.

Here's Johnson's hand-written note about prorogation -

Who could he be referring to in the redacted part?  Oh yes!  "Girly swot Cameron"!

These clearings in the woods think they're all still 6th formers at Eton.

Ah, international politics as an extension of a posh boys dick measuring contest, what could possibly go wrong?

I'm quite glad everyone's cottoned on to the fact that the BBC's lead politics reporter is more than a bit partial to the blue team.

Quite apart from anything else... look at the state of him. And people have the nerve to criticise Corbyn's appearance.

The marketing and social media teams at Conservative headquarters could go heavy on the crystal meth and ramp it up a notch?

Oh!  They have!

You do imagine there's another universe where he's wearing a mouldy shellsuit and clutching a Tennant's Super.

As for the lack of criticism... Well, Johnson is a Tory, an upper class one, one of our betters. He's not a mess, it's character.

Corbyn's just an uppity spiv.

I might be wrong, but he appears to be out jogging (in a very loose sense at least )   , I can't help but think a 3 piece suit with a bow tie isn't the best attire for that

Corbyn was criticised for wearing an anorak to the cenotaph  for  an Armistice Day service

fairly sure there is a big difference , even on VT
