Summer Speculation 2015

Stan Collymore just tweeted 'he's coming home, he's coming home, he's coming...'.. then just deleted it.

Ashley Young anyone?

Delph has changed his mind.

This isn't his home anymore.

Fair point.

This delay in Adebayor is interesting though - and the speed that Gestade came in at. I do wonder if Tim didn't fancy Ade (despite the facials) after speaking to him and we've switched to Gestade and the huge wages is going elsewhere.

Mad, this transfer window. Would have never have had thoughts like that in the past few years. Gloriously mad. I don't know if these players are any good or not, but it's exciting to see.

Unfortunately I do think adebayor is still coming as much as I don't want him

I've seen very little of the preseason games and know very little about most of our signings. They all sound very exciting. I cannot wait for the season to start.

Is the preseason game on vtv tomorrow

Trippier has had one season in a relegated team. Dier started well but faded. Selling Walker would be silly IMO. Maybe that's why it's only to be a loan (if there is anything in it)

Yeah I doubt he's going anywhere, although I'd love to have him here.

lescott makes little sense, every other signing we have made have all been given at least 3 year deals, many have been given 5 years. I'm quite sure sherwood won't be after lescott for 1 season, he will be looking at someone who will be here long term

Like Adebayor?

I can see the benefit of bringing in an experienced, quality centre-back, even if he has no sell-on value. Lescott and Richards at the back is better than any pairing we can currently out together, and would give us some needed stability in a very attacking team.

So what's our gross spend up to now?

Sinclair £2.5m

Amavi £10m

Gueye £9m

Ayew £9m

Veretout £7m

Gestede £6m

We're getting close to our biggest ever single season spend.

One more should do it Tim!

You forgot Crespo

Ta. Any idea how much he cost?

I think we're up to about £43.5m so far.

If you go back a month or so in this thread, you'd have been laughed out of town for suggesting that sort of money - and rightly so.
