  1. theres a set price barcelona can buy him back for during any of the transfer periods during the next 3 years only, also a first option to match any transfer bid that villa accept for him but thats only if villa would sell. the buy back clause doesn't really worry me, 3 years isn't long and he's only 19, surely they wouldn't let him go if he would be significantly better in 3 years. and I'm glad about the second clause, rather he went back to barca than a fellow prem team
  2. Ochoa would be a really good signing, and if we are looking at malaga how about Roberto Rosales for right back?
  3. maybe man u are just too big a team for johnny evans, perhaps he would flourish at us, where he'd be one of the more experienced players in the dressing room. still not sure i see the logic in giving baker a new deal, a new cb will push him down the pecking order further and he's already behind; clark, okore, richards, a fit senderos. if it came to a situation where those four and a new cb where unavailable, crespo or donacien would fill in
  4. so we've apparently bid for a man u player, not young, sky reporting rafael may leave, would you take him? think we would need a better centre half to cope with having 2 such attacking full backs
  5. Like Adebayor? I can see the benefit of bringing in an experienced, quality centre-back, even if he has no sell-on value. Lescott and Richards at the back is better than any pairing we can currently out together, and would give us some needed stability in a very attacking team. experience doesn't mean 30+ years, you'd say veretout is experienced, over 140 league games and only 22, just saying for such an important position id rather have someone who'd be a stable leader in the team for years to come
  6. lescott makes little sense, every other signing we have made have all been given at least 3 year deals, many have been given 5 years. I'm quite sure sherwood won't be after lescott for 1 season, he will be looking at someone who will be here long term
  7. "he's coming home, he's coming home", kyle walker? trippier likely to be first choice at spurs
  8. i must have it wrong then, only seen him play a few times to be fair
  9. just think crespo is similar to baker in that he's a centre back that can cover a full back if needed; left for baker, right for crespo. and with ayew being able to play wide or through the middle and veretout and gueye playing any role in the midfield looks like sherwood has gone for players with the ability to play multiple positions and formations http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jose-angel-crespo/profil/spieler/37397 maybe you're right, just doesn't really look like a right back, 6ft tall, not a huge amount of pace. and with sherwood playing amavi who is such a strong attacking player, crespo is just the complete opposite

  11. goalkeeper and right back for the first team and cover for centre half = job done
  12. makes no sense to offer nantes more money if they've accepted a villa bid..., he will be holding up a villa shirt leaning on a goalpost by tomorrow night
  13. http://www.ouest-france.fr/fc-nantes-jordan-veretout-choisi-aston-villa-3588087 Woah woah woah, who's this Mendy fella we've supposedly signed from Nice? Nampalys mendy, plays for Nice and was gueye's midfield partner, journalists got a bit confused
  14. striker, right back, goal-keeper. add veretout(maybe?,hopefully)for around £7million and we still have £8million of benteke/delph money left, sell n'zog, baker and a few more duds and we could be looking at a decent villa side for next season
  15. right now the people wanting adebayor will be the same people celebrating when he runs out his contract, in a similar way to when he played for city and spurs, in a bobo balde-esque manner and his astronomical wages are off the villa books. saying he should be brought in to mentor anyone is the most ridiculous idea i think I've ever heard since offering a minuscule release clause to one of your top players
