Darder link again

Since the sale of Samus and Juanmi, in just 48 hours, departures chapter had been very quiet and arrivals had taken absolute role. Five signings, plus the Cop, at the expense of becoming official, have occurred since then. The need to balance sales over numbers, from that moment any sale would be linked to the receipt of a very good deal. But there are still clubs hovering around Málaga willing to bid for some interesting player. In the case of Aston Villa, which, this newspaper has learned, he is quite interested in taking the services of Sergi Darder.

It is not surprising that in the coming days to reach a good proposal to the offices of Martiricos, where they are knowing that the player has good sign and there are several teams that have talked his representative Minguella Junior, since the late last season. Of course, once past the worst economic times, the malaguistas leaders will be very demanding when it comes to listen to any proposal. Not come at bargain prices, they are very clear.

For its part, the player tries to work with the five senses posts in Malaga and make a good preseason, but he knows, through his agent, that there are options that can change of scenery before the competition starts late August.

Artá player already caused a good feeling to sports leaders of the two pretempodas villains when it caught on a great game against them (Malaga lost 3-2). Darder scored a great goal from outside the area, in one of his usual zambombazos, and ended up being voted best player of the friendly match. Since then, reports good footballer and current coach, Tim Sherwood handled, have given its approval to the operation. Birmingham club walks in need of a creator figure football in midfield and before the league start date comes closest want to have that profile. The fact that in England the television distribution allows all good clubs manage budgets could lead to the arrival of a succulent proposal by the Majorcan footballer.

Report: Aston Villa agree deal for Malaga midfielder Sergi Darder

Aston Villa have been heavily linked with Malaga’s Sergi Darder in recent weeks.

According to the latest news from Italian editorial TMW, Aston Villa have reached an agreement with Malaga for the signing of talented midfielder Sergi Darder.

The Spanish U21 international was a key figure for the La Liga outfit last season, starting 33 top-flight matches and impressing with a number of excellent displays.

As per a recent report by CalcioNews24, Serie A giants AS Roma and Inter Milan were said to be keen on the Malaga man, while Aston Villa were intent on rivalling the duo for his signature.

With a potential Christian Benteke sale still dragging on, Villa fans could be forgiven for being downbeat. The mood around Villa Park, however, could be lifted somewhat due to the latest Darder reports.

According to Tuttomercato, an agreement in principal has been reached for the defensive midfielder and a completion of the deal for the player is said to be close.

Midfield options:

Following the signing of Idrissa Gueye from Lille and Fabian Delph’s decision to reject Manchester City’s advances, the Villans are starting to look very healthy and balanced in midfield.

Darder, 21, is very much a defensive-minded player, although he can be classed as a deep-lying playmaker due to his ability to instigate attacks from deep and chip in with a few goals.

Last season, he averaged an impressive 1.8 shots on goal per league encounter, finding the net on four occasions over the course of the campaign

Oh my this is exciting!

Any clues as to what is motivating this Villa 'revolution'?  Any word on 'our vision' from Sherwood, Fox, Lerner?

Or was Lerner visited by the ghosts of Villa past, present and future (McCleish, Lambert and some weird Jermaine Defoe/Adebayor decrepit mutant) one chilly April night?  Because that will do things to a man...

The future is bright.  The future is blazing claret and stirring blue!

We seem to be linked with loads of midfielders.

If we signed Darder and Praet we'd have an amazing midfield. Can't see us signing both though surely?

Let's not get too excited, we've only actually bought 1 player....

Sorry sir, can't help it.  'The Future' for Villa has, for so very long, meant nervously looking at fixture lists, staring bleakly at overgrown Sunday League pitches and filling out Predictors.  I'm relishing the difference.  I'll make a bet with you.  If I'm not smiling like a fool come September £100 to Villatalk.
