Benteke didn't have any funds for 92% of those games.

Not everything is so "black and white" though*.

*Except the figures above of course!

All that table shows is that we've been in a relegation battle in each of the last 4 seasons. We're down there with a good 4 or 5 other teams with the differences being marginal, especially considering it's over a period of a few years. All of the teams who could be worse have either been relegated or newly promoted and not included. So what does it tell us apart from what we already know? Bit of sensationalism there. I can see why that table makes for bad reading for Newcastle though, given how much they spent in that time. Just this summer they spent about 40M on top of what was already a good squad built over 4 years. When you spend that much each season you expect not to be among the bottom. But for us, regardless of who's our manager we would be there or thereabouts, unless he's exceptionaa.

That actually is pretty rubbish!

The differences are so tiny, they are barely worth talking about. It could quite easily be that in a couple of games time, those stats show us that we are going backwards.

How a manager with such a record keeps his job only Learner knows !

Freudian slip. In the time Lerner has been here he has made many, many mistakes....

... I'm not convinced he has learned from any of them.

Those tables have 15 teams in them, and we have finished 16th, 15th and 15th. Why are any of you surprised? Absolutely nothing to talk about there. If it was cut off at 6 teams it makes grim reading for Liverpool.

Stick a total player wages and net transfer spend next to the team names in the chart and see what you find.

As has been said before spending is not the ultimate way to judge this. Gabby, grealish, guzan, delph, Cole, Richardson all available to Lambert for the grand total of 0 pounds spent on transfer fees.

Are they all shit and useless because of that?

So you'll only look at certain statistics to suit your side of the argument and you'll ignore everything else? He didn't say anything about it being the ultimate way of judging a manager, all he did was highlight additional areas that should be acknowledged that aren't shown up in that chart.
