StanBalaban
Lambert said in his interview that Herd comes in so Nathan will have to move over. Indicating Baker at LB and Herd at CB.

samjp26
From what Lambert is saying it seems like we're going 4-3-3, Baker at left back and Herd at CB. Now I am confused.

CarewsEyebrowDesigner
If Berbatov turns up (which he usually does at home), then Herd is in for a buggering.
Villa87
Moving Baker to lb against Everton was disastrous, and yet it seems Lambert is asking Baker (a cb) to play lb when we have Herd coming in who isn't really a defender. Very very nervous. Hoping to be proved wrong.

sonic_bouma
I could see us conceding a penalty today actually Lots of inexperience at the back and players out of position Which can only lead to poor positioning and rash tackles Hope I'm wrong It just seems its been so long since we can feel confident about a villa back four What I wouldn't do for a Young Mellberg Laursen Bouma in their prime
AshVilla
Why not Lowton at RB Bacuna LB with Baker Clark in middle Do not understand the selection of Herd Baker and Clark together makes me nervous but Herd at the back is even worse the lesser of two evils Edited December 8, 2013 by AshVilla

abdulaziz1
I think Herd is a LB .. He played against Wolves under Mcleash as a RB .. And I think in one the League Cups games or friendlies the same season he played a LB .. I remember him being MOM against Wolves ..
myko
Clark is blatantly a better LB than Baker, but, he's a better CB too. Herd and Baker at CB together would be awful. So I think Lambert has made the right choice today, Lowton would be wank at LB, so one footed.

legov
What I wouldn't do for a Young Mellberg Laursen Bouma in their prime Might as well talk about what we wouldn't do for Cannavaro in his prime. We rarely had the luxury of playing that back four. Young at LB, Olof at RB, Laursen and Bouma on the treatment table....surely you haven't forgotten?
