StefanAVFC
It's so calm out. I've been in the middle of a hurricane so this'll just be a light breeze Irene? Indeed.
Dodgyknees
Trekka, are you in the Portsmouth area? Yep, right next to the historic dockyard. What an awesome place to live! I'm below you (and to the left) in East of Cowes. And Cowes looked like this about two hours ago; Wind here just pulled our windows open. Nice one matey. I moved down from Birmingham about 5 years ago but don't spend that much time here with work commitments. I love the place and get back whenever I can. Isle of Wight is ace too! Aye the Island is a rather beautiful little place! Very stormy here right now!
Ingram85
Piss all happening here too. A leaf blew past my window a few minutes ago. Hardly worth getting DOROTHY III ready to deploy.
drat01
Perfectly fine here, and will remain so, as well as in Scotland. Obviously, we don't count, and the UK (read: southern England) is currently undergoing a Day After Tomorrow style disaster. This is to be known as Hurricane Tory - the further north it goes it becomes less effective and the people couldn't give two shits about it

trekka Posted October 27, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted October 27, 2013 Apparently, the air pressure drop is bad and is seen as a marker for the start of a storm. Oooh! (that's at Land's End)

trekka Posted October 27, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted October 27, 2013 (edited) Calm before the storm is a thing right? Perfectly demonstrated by the film "The Perfect Storm" - nice timing ITV this evening. For what it's worth, given the maritime theme, the Channel is predicted to get hurricane force 12 wind during the night. Crikey. (the "Channel" is not ITV!)
