  1. I would guess France (Napoleon) and Germany (Hitler)
  2. An error is making a mistake, he knew at the time it was the wrong decision, but still continued with it. That is intentionally manipulating the situation for his own purposes. He's just admitted he's a cheat. I have no sympathy with him, if he disagreed with the process, he should have resigned.
  3. True, but I think if we don't trigger the buy back clause, £18m for Archer will appear a good deal for us, as will the £30m+ we spent on Ollie.
  4. The grey training gear just gives me flashbacks to G*rrard, needs more claret and blue. Not keen on the 3rd kit
  5. Being bad in his first game is not ideal but expected, but if he has made no improvement after half a dozen consecutive games then I believe we would have to look to replace him. Until then I think his work on the training ground outweighs everything else.
  6. What he meant to say was "how else do I get my kickbacks from the big companies". We are told this country isn't corrupt, but our laws make it so they don't have to be. They can legally shaft is, and do every **** day.
  7. As @rjw63 noted she is very attractive, but in a unique way, but more importantly she is cast for her acting not her looks. I'll look out for Flight.
  8. The rich got richer and the rest got shafted. This was what Brexit was truly about. If we continue to vote in these pricks from Eton and Harrow it's only going to get worse. They treated the working class like shit 200 years ago and they are still doing it now. Their divide and conquer techniques are straight out of a narcissist handbook.
  9. The more players from our academy playing premier league or championship football, the better, as we will become a more attractive proposition nationally and globally . The problem starts when they are playing for a better team than us, then Monchi and Emery have dropped a cod ( hence the buy back clause). If AJ had been a couple of years older, he may well be a first team regular like his brother. He may well still be with the buy back clause, so it is up to him to prove he should be playing for Villa not Burnley.
  10. This is the major problem with the VAR system, the referees just don't want to be seen to be wrong, even when they are. Friends shouldn't come into it. Watch the DRS system in cricket, the evidence is presented and the umpire corrects their decision if necessary, no egos, it is just about getting the correct decision (admittedly cricket decisions are less subjective than football ones on the whole). Until the people in charge accept that their rules need to be abided by, the VAR system is doomed to be a cancer on the premier league.
  11. If Archer played for a top Championship club, and Emery / Monchi bid £18m for him, I would be disappointed, therefore I am happy we sell him at this price. He may well fit in another team an score plenty, but he looks lost in this set up. He doesn't have the physical attributes of Watkins or Duran. Our system cannot accommodate a pure goal poacher.
  12. This is a great point, especially as he gets through an extraordinary amount of work up front. We could play a better finisher, or someone who works harder, but we cannot attract or afford someone who does both (yet).
  13. Olsen's main job is to be part of the team that prepares EMI for match day, because top goalkeepers are rarely injured. This means that he will never get a run of games to show his best form. A second choice GK cannot just drop into the team and play as well as the superior first choice. Reserve GK is an impossible position and I think our perspective is skewed because of what Spink did in the final. He is the current scapegoat, but I think he is adequate cover and would do ok. My main gripe with him is not twatting that man city fan on the pitch
  14. Yes, but he probably would have been bought back by this regime and it would have been beneficial to our FFP. The level we are at, very few academy players will make it and for as long as I can remember, we have basically given away players who have gone on to have good careers. We need to have an academy where players can see a pathway to a successful career, whether with us or someone else. There is no place for sentiment, and I don't think Monchi possesses it.
  15. She was also very good in Brittania, which is worth watching
  16. Do Native American men go bald? I don't ever remember seeing one (except being scalped).
  17. I think your right on both counts, she is a brilliant character and it only gets better.
  18. I heard on Twitter he's having a baby with Awoniyi.
  19. Trainspotting tells me everybody uses up there
  20. Digne put a good cross in for the Torres header when Watkins collided with the post. In the first half, Dyche had his two centre backs set up like a pair of NFL punters, every time they got ball ... boom... 60 yards down the pitch. Probably because DCL was playing and Ming's wasn't. Retro 1980s stuff.
  21. In the 1830's, the wealthy youths liked their own secret language and changed the spelling of words and turned them into acronyms. All Correct became Oll Korrect and shortened to OK. This took off and became mainstream due to the new telegram service.
  22. Ironically it is Crying by Don McLean. I don't get emotional, but it always reminds me of Only Fools and Horses, and makes me cry with laughter To the Moon & Back by Savage Garden, does do it for me though
