  1. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I personally love it. And herein lies the problem of any designer. Some think less is more (as per example the post above), whereas some like more outlandish and quirky designs. They can't win! They can't please everyone.
  2. Repeated at midday on Sky Sports for anyone else who recorded it, but only got 40 minutes recorded due to the delay.
  3. It’s absolutely not true, don’t worry. Inter sold Onana because they needed money in to strengthen elsewhere, they wouldn’t go after Emi as they know he’d cost far more than Onana. They’re going to sign Sommer and Trubin for in nets, so fear not. As for where this rumour came from, I’m pretty sure he’s an Argentine journalist who’s been touting Emi out for a couple of years. Odd, but no truth in it and nothing to worry about.
  4. Arnau Martinez is the right back for me. This is an unpopular opinion, but Cash sticks out like a sore thumb in our XI now in terms of ability. Martinez would fit in well, and wouldn’t cost an arm and a leg. Prefer him to Fresneda.
  5. I’m tempted to get a subscription again, now that it’s no longer Evans.
  6. Argyle have just bought their right wing back from last season, and spent a sizeable chunk on him, too. So no idea where this leaves our boy. Mumba played a few games on the left last year, so maybe that’s the plan? Not ideal, anyway.
  7. One thing to consider is keeping him around for one more season qualifies him as club homegrown, whereas if we keep loaning him out until he’s 21 then he’ll only be association homegrown. I’d keep him around, and he may even get the chance to get some Conference League minutes.
  8. Italians tend to do wages after tax. So it’d be more like £55k per week. If it was true, that is.
  9. Nope, afraid not. He spent four years at Chelsea, but two of those were on loan in the Netherlands, so he doesn’t count as homegrown.
  10. When people (and usually commentators) say “there’ll be an applause in the 19th minute for Stiliyan Petrov to represent his shirt number” (for example), when actually it starts at the 19 minute mark and therefore is the 20th minute. Really shouldn’t wind me up, but it does.
  11. Martinez Diego Mings Pau Kamara Douglas McGinn Tielemans Diaby Watkins Moreno Oof.
  12. I personally don’t rate him, he’s been really poor in Italy. Watched an obligatory YouTube video from his time in Belgium to see if that would sway me, but he even looks average at best on there. Obviously in Unai we trust, but I’m not a fan of this one.
  13. Have you heard any more from your source about any pending deals?
  14. The system is absolutely fine. You can give it for free to friends or family, or get the bulk of your money back if you sell it back to the club and they sell it on. Why not 100%? Because fans could then buy a season ticket, with no intention of going to all of the games and not lose out. I sold my ticket for about eight games last season, mostly because I’d just had my kid, so I’ve used it a lot, and it’s absolutely fair and appropriate. Moan about price increase, or the Terrace View, sure, but not this.
  15. This team would struggle to score more than 35 goals.
  16. The same defender that is on the verge of moving to the Champions League runners up? Don’t belittle this achievement.
  17. Beaches are rubbish. Sand is the most irritating substance known to man. It’s boring. You can’t eat anything due to the sand issue. Get in the bin.
  18. That NEC gig in 97 was my first ever concert. Amazing night.
  19. He didn't start many games for Villarreal under Emery, so my guess is he's not going to go for him. I don't think I've seen enough of Gnonto to have a big opinion of him, he seems decent, but one big positive would be that he'd be a homegrown player after two more seasons, which will be useful for Europe.
  20. They likened it to the Holte Suite. I don’t know if that’s only open to Holte End season tickets/match day tickets or not to be honest. There was a tour guide there who showed people around the warehouse and the new academy, and in the warehouse there were specific experts who could answer questions. There was a finance manager there on behalf of Chris Heck, and there was also the project manager of the development there. I’m not sure whether it would be appropriate to share his name, but he’s on Villa’s LinkedIn, and if you do enough sleuthing you can see that he was listed as being at a similar fan consultation event a year ago. He’s got extensive experience in this by all accounts, and was heavily involved in the Qatar World Cup. He still has connections, and said that it’s 95% that we will win the Euros bid.
  21. I agree. It’s a beautiful 1920s building, and once spruced up will look classy. Big fan. The new bar will be on the corner between the North Stand and Trinity Road, and have capacity for about 500. The new shop will be the Witton Lane corner.
  22. Just spoke to one of our guys who went. Headlines are: Work will begin the Monday after the Foo Fighters gig It will take two years, and they’ll only allow fans in when fully complete, they won’t open the lower tier early, for example Planning permission is expected to be given in October/November Witton Station is dependent on us winning the Euros, however the money will come from the government rather than the local council If the club continues to grow, there are plans to knock down the Witton Lane and make Villa Park a 60k stadium When they arrived at the club, they did look in to building a new ground elsewhere (in and around Bham), or ‘doing a Tottenham’, but that would’ve cost £1.5bn Think that was everything. This was all second hand, so any follow up questions I mightn’t be able to answer! I got sent some photos, but even one screenshot exceeded the size limit, so can’t attach them.
  23. Interesting. If we do sell, hopefully it’s for a profit.
