I can only imagine he needs more time in training to get in the same wavelength as everyone else. I have faith Deano knows what he's doing.

He's got a full week of training now before the next game to up his fitness and get back towards his best. This run of fixtures has been tough in the whole team, a rest will do him a world of good.

Iwabuchi has massively improved this team. I hope they really kick on from here.

Plucky little Arsenal. If they keep making marginal improvements, they might just make a few splashes in this league in a few years time.

A full week's rest before the next game as well. That was probably the toughest run of fixtures we'll face this season, and we managed 9 from a possible 18. I'd say that's not bad, all things considered.

Winning ugly again, good to see. That's now three clean sheets in a row against Arsenal. They used to terrorise us all the time. We have improved.

Excluding Jack, who is obviously top: 1. Martinez 2. Konsa 3. Targett 4. Mings 5. Cash I didn't actually mean to just pick the defence, but these are the five players that sprang to mind when I thought about it. The improvement of our defence has been the foundation of our good season, and I have to assume Martinez and the calmness he provides is key to that. As for the placement of the others, Konsa is our most consistently reliable defender, Targett's individual improvement is particularly impressive, Mings remains one of my favourite players for his overall presence and what he offers, and Cash has made an excellent start to life in the PL, almost like he's been here for years. All five of them are interchangeable.

The lads looked knackered last night. Thankfully there's only one more game left in this sickening run of fixtures, then they'll get a full week's test before the next one. I think Sanson needs to start the next game just so there's some energy in the middle from minute one. But who should he come in for? There's a case for all three of the midfield to come out after that. Maybe Marv should come into the side for the next game as well.

I remember seeing that and thinking we needed to up our game. Only slapping three past those losers? I know they camped every player in the six yard box for about 85 minutes, but still.

It started when we beat Liverpool 7-2 and people in the media were saying ridiculous nonsense Luke "Bielsa showed them how to beat Liverpool". Like what even is that? We absolutely humiliated them and somehow Bielsa got praised for it? I don't mind Leeds. I never have. I just don't get the hype. Also, even we don't pay much attention to Gabby or Stan. They're pure windup merchants.

They'll overtake WBA, I'm pretty confident of that now. They could catch Fulham too. I don't see them catching Brighton though, and both Newcastle and Burnley are too good at shithousing results against the odds. It'd be great if they did manage to survive somehow, but I just can't see it. The first half of their season was just so awful.

Nah. I want Blues to go down, and I want Coventry to stay up but still have to share the ground. That would be delightful.

Everything about Watkins and his overall contribution to the team reinforces just how little I understand the game, especially in comparison to the pros. I saw him and assumed he'd be a typical poacher who could deputise on the wings; I didn't think he'd revolutionise our entire forward play.

It's nice being able to watch every game on TV though. I don't get to go to VP very often due to work and not having anyone to go with, so I can honestly say our great form has come at the ideal time for me. I'm probably not the only one.

But Southgate does, and right now that's all that really matters.

Why is FFP even being mentioned? I've never heard any official talk about our FFP situation or any sort of genuine indication that we've breached it in some way. It's only other fan bases that ever seen to mention it. Talking about Leeds being despicable, remember when Bamford got El Ghazi sent off with a ridiculous dive? That's pretty much set the tone for my opinion of them. I expect that sort of nonsense from them every time they play. I couldn't care less what they think of Grealish either. He makes it damn near impossible to tackle him without making contact. Maybe opposition defenders should learn how to not do that.

I can deal with fans pissing and moaning about us, it's what fans do. But how can anyone honestly disrespect Deano like that first guy? Maybe I'm wearing my Villa goggles, but I can't see any reason why anyone would genuinely hate the guy. Other than a bloser, of course.

It was three goals, all of which were frankly worldies. I don't think we were that badly outplayed that time, there was a hell of a lot of bad luck though. This time we've looked easily second best, but possession is worthless of you're not doing anything with it. We made ours count. We definitely dodged a bullet with the penalty shout though. How it wasn't given I'll never understand.

I read this comment before heading the song. I expected some kind of triumphant orchestral masterpiece.
