  1. I thought this was a bit of a jibe at first, so I checked - it actually is the finest moment in their entire history. Their only major honours are two League Cup wins. I was genuinely surprised to learn this. Relegation from the Championship is not a "similar fate" to relegation from the PL. One of those things is considerably worse.
  2. People on Twitter are implying that he thinks Jack is better than Messi. I should know better than to engage with these people, really.
  3. Considering he's trained with Messi, that's some damn high praise right there.
  4. I've come to respect them a lot. They'd be a credit to the league, and I think they'd cope well. I also can't quite believe just how good Toney has been for them. They just keep finding these gems over and over. Just think what they could uncover with a PL budget.
  5. He's lucky that paid off for him. Imagine if he'd missed that.
  6. It's a shame too, as I think we would've beat them this time. It could've been a historic moment for our women's team, the beginning of the tide turning in our favour.
  7. I keep forgetting he's so young. He comes across as someone with a lot more experience. Some people are just uniquely talented. Messi was world class at 18-19.
  8. I'm of the belief that a player like him should spend most of his energy going forward anyway. He comes back and applies pressure to help Cash, and that's probably enough. I loved the Newcastle one. The first touch and pass out to Grealish, the run into the box to receive the 1-2 and the way he just caressed it into the net. It just looked so silky and smooth. On his "weak foot", no less.
  9. This is true. They're not looking for meaningful content, they're looking for soundbites they can use as clickbait. Any actual content they randomly stumble across is just a bonus. Klopp turning on them like that is playing directly into their hands. Look how easily they've made him out to be a villain.
  10. It'll come as a surprise to nobody, but the blosers can't get anything right. Postponed for a frozen pitch literally minutes before kickoff, after the players had been out on that very same pitch to warm up for the best part of an hour.
  11. I'm glad I'm not the only one. To many dogheads round here.
  12. He's talked about his dream of playing for Argentina. I imagine he's not far off his first cap, so I doubt there would be any chance of this happening.
  13. Judging by his antics in the last couple of games against them, if he rocked up at Bodymoor Heath Mings would stuff him in his locker and steal his lunch money every day. He's having a good season, but there's no way I'd swap him with Watkins. Even before we discuss ability and who's the better player, his personality compared to Ollie's just plain stinks.
  14. I'm not familiar with their squad. Do they even have a playmaker?
  15. They won the last game, but on the balance of it we matched them, if not outperformed them overall. This time around we have Mana Iwabuchi, a top player who's establishing herself as our talisman. Could still go either way, their women's team has been better than ours for years. But this could be the start of the tide inevitably turning.
  16. I think this is mainly it. I know what supporters think doesn't correlate to what the actual professionals think, but plenty of opposition fans regard Barkley as our second best, if not our actual best player right now. If that's how he's viewed by opposition coaches, then his inclusion in the team is clear - he relieves attention from the true danger men, namely Jack, Ollie and Traore. Those are the three consistently causing the most trouble, but Barkley is still the biggest name on the pitch so no-one sees it.
  17. I absolutely love fans of the big 6. They're so out of touch with reality it's hilarious. I hope our fans never get this bad.
  18. I know it's happening to SHA all that, but the fact that a football club can end up in such a dire situation when there's supposed to be ownership tests is really damning for the EFL.
  19. You can't really on the baggies to get anything right. I wanted them to win today. They never even came close. It's just as well they showed up dressed like Ronald McDonald. There's no point hiding they're clowns anymore.
  20. I believe they were above us with a genuine shot at the playoffs, while we were floundering and looked dead in the water. That game changed both our fortunes. I also like to believe it was all because of that slimey little word removed too. It brings me some joy.
  21. From the outside looking in, it really looks like our players are tiring, especially over the last few games. Subs and squad rotations seem like the most obvious remedy to those problems. Smith insists there's no problems though, and I'm more inclined to believe his point of view.
  22. I hope they do. It'll be fun driving past the sty each week on my route and seeing a monument to their failure. Great fun.
  23. I can't lie, I do get concerned about the lack of subs we make. But then again, I'm not a professional coach, I barely know anything about the technical side of the game really, so who am I to doubt a guy who has been nothing but brilliant for us since he arrived? If he says everything is fine, then everything is fine. No further discussion needed.
