  1. I read about that deal recently and it did cross my mind that he seemed to be very sketchy, basically a Spanish Dr Tony.
  2. Is there really any need for them to hit the horses with the little sticks?
  3. He's not bluffing, it looked like he'd hardly trained for that one tbf Got the decision but was completely outworked and pretty fortunate really.
  4. We need a deep enough squad that players in the form that McGinn is in can be rotated.
  5. The tissues are so he can clean up after watching Firmino's not actually that impressive touch in the centre circle under no pressure?
  6. Darren bent is a smarmy word removed
  7. He got a ban for being racist while he was on loan at Celtic iirc. Can't remember the details but I think it was the final nail in the coffin of his Villa career.
  8. YouTube promised atomic strikes from both feet and all we got was corners that went straight out of play and racism while he was out on loan.
  9. I think even in the short term the increase in value of the club has offset a large percentage of the capital they have injected so far. They bought the club for about £60m and now it must be worth at least £350m. If they can invest enough to make us a CL side that number could double.
  10. I've captained Salah based on the superstition that last time we played them I captained him, he scored 2 and we scored 7. A repeat of that would be alright by me.
  11. Sometimes I wonder what Arlind Sadiku has been up to lately.
  12. ...Or news.sky.com or bbc.co.uk or bbc.co.uk/sport (FFS) or literally every single news site
  13. Not only have we risen from such depths so quickly, every club above us has spent more assembling their squads and all of them also have a far bigger wage bill. We will spend more in the future I'm sure but until we are at least somewhere significantly closer to the total expenditure of some of these clubs I don't think baseline expectations should be to finish ahead of them.
  14. Fair enough, it's all only speculation as to what their opinions are on our season. Fwiw I think our owners would be happy to currently be 9th ahead of Arsenal who have an expensively assembled squad and an enormous wage bill. Like everyone here I hoped that we would defy all preseason expectation and keep up our 1.8ppg average from early on but I don't think it is realistic to have expected that to happen given the squads at each clubs. I think given our squad the 1.5ppg we've got so far is an overachievement if anything.
  15. Yeah I remember that one. Sort of been evened out by the Kane side step engineered contact dodgy pen imo.
  16. I can't seem to remember all 4. Can you list them? The Kane one and the handball against City are the only two I can remember.
  17. We've had an enormous turn over of players since he left. By the time the next season starts he'll have only played with about 4 of our match day squad.
  18. Bellingham is a box to box midfielder. Very impressive technical ability, positioning, awareness and athleticism for a 17 year old. If he continues to develop he'll be among the best in the world in his position. If he doesn't he'll still have a good career.
  19. True, Walker could play CB or RB to improve it. Bertrand in there as well maybe
  20. I don't want any of them back particularly but thinking about it Players Who Used To Play For Us FC could be challenging for top 10 unless of course they were managed by someone who used to manage us, in which case they'd be fighting relegation.
  21. Watkins has played every single minute so Davis has only played with Watkins not instead of him. It would be nice to know what the plan is if Watkins is out but he seems to be the terminator
  22. You're right, bit part was an exaggeration and he did have more appearances than the previous season but less starts, less minutes, less goals and less assists. That is basically the definition of regression isn't it? He's regressed by almost every metric. AFAIK the only reason he made more appearances was because he was injured less. He was good in the EL but they didn't play in it the year before so I can't really compare. I haven't seen much of Wolves this season other than against us and on motd because they're boring but I have seen Spurs and Doherty has been shite. Sounds like his replacement has been similar I'm not trying to critique their transfer policy as I don't really care about Wolves, my only point was that they don't need to sell cheap and all indications are that Neto would cost £70m plus. I don't think we'll spend that on one player (this summer at least) Edit - For reference, with a quarter of the season still to go Neto has already played more minutes, made more starts and got more goal involvements than Jota did last season with Wolves. He seems to be far more key to them than Jota was.
  23. I'd be happier with Traore up front than Josh King or Origi tbh. The rest you have a point. More depth would be nice but I'd put a no 10, and a DM ahead in terms of importance this summer.
  24. We also have Traore. He has a very good goal scoring record at CF. I think if Watkins got injured Traore would be next choice currently and I think he'd do okay in terms of goal return. Currently nowhere near fit enough to do the defensive work of OW though.
