  1. To be honest me neither, they could easily employ a three strikes system and use hawk eye to detect people with 4 wheels over. I think their reasoning is that if someone legitimately ran wide they'd lose time and that's punishment enough but that is rarely the case on these tracks that look like they're drawn onto a car park with tarmac as far as the eye can see. They need more astro turf at the edges I think.
  2. Me too. The way they ditched Checo only for him to end up in a way better seat was delicious as well.
  3. According to Leclerc and Norris the drivers were told in the briefing that they could do whatever they liked at turn 4 as long as they weren't overtaking for some reason. With hindsight that seems stupid, not sure if that's Masi's fault or if he just got bad advice from someone.
  4. Vettel is not mentally as tough as you'd expect from someone who won the title from behind the way he did in 2010. He has visibly given up when pressured by a fast teammate several times. With a well balanced car leading from pole he's about as quick as anyone but as soon as there is any kind of adversity he crumbles. Doesn't seem to have the same adaptability and racing instincts as any of the greats (HAM and ALO included). I think his ability to extract maximum performance in perfect conditions was more down to his work ethic on analysis and understanding of engineering rather than a 'feel'. It's why he doesn't do well in the wet imo.
  5. Great battles all through the field and Maze$pin out after 2 corners. 10/10
  6. Would be nice but if one even exists on earth he'd cost £150m
  7. Inaccurate metaphor. Their ship is nowhere near that big and it isn't just grounded, it's sinking.
  8. Bellingham didn't need to sign a contract with them, he could've **** off to Dortmund for free. His decision kept them afloat almost singlehandedly. I still make sure to refer to him as Dortmund's Bellingham at every opportunity though.
  9. How does that relate to the point about Leicester's results without Vardy?
  10. Don't they also sleep 18 hours a day as well? That's one every 7 waking minutes
  11. It's been a long time gradual erosion from lack of funds, lack of innovation, no direction or leadership, Claire Williams being too proud to sell and general disorganisation to an alarming degree. I think it started when Martini left as their title sponsor. If a team can't compete financially they need to be clever and take as many shortcuts as possible. Haas bought parts off Ferrari, RP bought a whole car design off Merc all while Williams did nothing and got overtaken. They managed to miss several days of testing a few years back. Absolute shambles.
  12. Traore He seems to be getting a bad rap but I really think his quality is very evident with the ball. I think it gets overlooked that he signed off the back of 6 months without kicking a ball after half a season of playing RWB which I think we can all agree is not going to be his best position. So far he has 5 goals and 3 assists in 1521 minutes (17ish lots of 90 minutes). That's a goal or assist nearly every other game. For someone starting from such a low fitness base (he looked knackered on his debut after about 20 minutes) I think that's a decent return. I might be slightly swayed by how much I enjoy watching his outrageous bits of skill but with a summer off and then a full preseason I'm sure we'll see a much more complete Traore next season. With Grealish, Watkins and a new AM he'll thrive imo. AEG Streakiest, most confidence based player I can currently think of in any team. Often makes the wrong decision with the ball and shoots more than the NYPD but at least provides some amount of goal threat. Scored 4 penalties and 2 from open play but no assists in about 900 minutes. Without the penalties his numbers don't look great but he seems to be the only decent penalty taker we have. For the money Villa paid (and the sentimental value of his Playoff final goal) I'm happy with him as a backup option for LW for now. Trezeguet Pre covid his workrate stood out, since Jan though it hasn't really looked at the same level. Puts pressure on opposition players but the amount of excellent chances he misses is outrageous. 0 goals, 1 assist in 11.5 games worth of minutes. You could put a sleeping baby in the opposition net when he's got the ball. Of all players at all clubs in the PL yet to score this season he has the highest xG by far. His assist was a header from a choreographed set piece routine as well iirc. He helped save us last season with 3 goals in the last 4 games but the more we see of him the more that seems like a miracle with hindsight. Not really good enough to get regular minutes in the PL imho. Signings Ideally we'd sign a skillful, fast, dynamic winger with a rocket of a shot. Someone like Rashica but that actually is capable of negotiating his exit from his current club. I would very much like to see what Lange, Smith and co have in store for us. The 4 permanent signings in the summer have been excellent and Sanson looks good too.
  13. Eh? Leicester lost to us and Leeds, drew to Wolves, Palace, Everton and 'drew' to arsenal without Vardy. Only managed to beat Fulham. Similar opposition. By your standards they are a one man team.
  14. No but there are 3 only games he came off the bench. 1-1 draw with Palace, 0-0 with Wolves and a 1-0 win against Arsenal where he scored the only goal. So without him they're effectively played 7 won 1 drawn 4 lost 2 as he won the game against Arsenal and without him they drew. Without Grealish we're won 1 drawn 2 lost 3. Pretty similar.
  15. That didn't sound right so I checked. Vardy has missed 4 league games all season: The 0-1 home loss to us, 1-1 against Everton, 1-3 home loss to Leeds, and a 2-0 win at Fulham. 25% win rate, only beat a relegation candidate, 2 home losses, 1 point per game. Several on here would be spitting feathers about that kind of form.
  16. United must have done surely. And PSG and City. But I agree with the implied point that we won't be joining them this summer.
  17. Your fantasy of us finishing 15th so you can be proved right about how rubbish Smith is seems extremely unlikely even if our poor form continues. We're 1/4 to finish top 10. I would usually use relegation odds to try and gauge the likelihood of a 15th place finish but nobody is even offering odds on us anymore. Five thirty-eight have us with a <1% chance of us finishing 15th fwiw. @weedman is right, using a straw man that weak is doing nothing for the credibility of your argument.
  18. Interesting you say that. I've been selling the drama and skulduggery to non fans with the DtS series as I mentioned on the last page, with the view to them eventually getting into the actual racing. Never thought about the fact that that side of it might actually be the main attraction for some people. Fwiw I love the off track competition and tactics in F1, but not as much as the on track stuff.
  19. If he was tougher on them we'd have been so good we'd have been granted early promotion to the Premier League three quarters of the way through the 18/19 season. We'd then have amassed 36 points in the 9 remaining games and avoided relegation. From there we'd have finished in the European places last year after rebuilding the squad entirely and would now be fighting City on all four fronts. But oh no, Dean 'pushover' Smith only had us promoted at the end of his first season in a conventional way, only avoided relegation narrowly after the complete squad rebuild and only has us sitting in the top half of the table now, nowhere near the title race. His weak willed approach of treating the players as colleagues rather than naughty children has meant he's failed at every hurdle and has to go.
  20. I've been accused of this but I'm legitimately bad at hanging out the washing in a way that avoids creasing as well as folding the dry stuff so it does the same. There was a streak of nearly 10 years where I did my own washing and yet still I can't make an aesthetically pleasing pile of clean laundry. No idea why.
  21. One of our neighbours puts theirs out Thursday AM, they're collected Friday AM and he doesn't take them back in until Sunday PM. They're on the curb/in the **** road more than half the week. Apparently he "works shifts", they must be 72 hour shifts.
  22. 100% agree, if Grealish leaves everyone's potential numbers will go way down whoever he is replaced by. I'm relatively confident we'll end the season okay, reach 50+ points and he'll stay though.
  23. 20 goals and assists combined. He's got 8 in less than 17 games worth of minutes this season with no fitness in a threadbare squad. Edit - He managed 25 G+A in 43 games in all comps in 17/18. Easier league but he's definitely got the quality imho.
