  1. We sold him for what we bought him for though iirc. Sheffield United paid over £20m for Berge so I doubt the clause is less than half that. Not sure I really get the clamour for him to be honest. I'd be delighted if we could sign him for £9m for squad depth obviously but he's not the level of deep lying midfielder I hope we'll be aiming for imo.
  2. You need to write the body of each article too if you want the big bucks. Luckily for you the body is just the title rearranged in various ways several times in a row in order to hit the minimum word count.
  3. Oh no! 4 days later and it's dropped by £12m. We better sell soon or we'll have to give him to City for free next month at this rate
  4. I don't really agree. Seems most likely to me that his agent has informed him of the plan for them both to earn the most money possible from the situation and Grealish is happy for that to happen. Rumours of a £100m bid being readied are very useful in contract negotiations with the club even if he knows he's going nowhere. He's currently on £125k-£140k a week if reports are to be believed. I think he'll probably sign a new one in July worth £200k+ a week and Villa will still be getting a bargain.
  5. Similar to Watkins, made the initial squad but not the final cut.
  6. If, as you say, he has stated in his articles that NSWE will sell for £100m then they haven't proven to be accurate at all. If he is sold for that amount then we can consider them to be accurate, not before.
  7. He's in upside down land. Day is night and night is day there. They've already had their Friday night.
  8. I agree but the going market rate for someone of his quality is well above what he's being paid. It would be unfair to expect him to forgo career earnings in the name of loyalty.
  9. A well deserved one at that... For Jack that is. Hopefully agents will have their cut of any profit limited by FIFA soon.
  10. There is literally a link to sky bet in the navigation menu at the top (might be different on mobile). Home, Sports, Scores, Video, TV, SkyBet. The relationship between these two groups is so clear to me it's basically symbiotic.
  11. Legally they're separate entities but have close working relationships. Flutter Entertainment (Sky Bet owners) are the biggest purchasers of advertising space on Sky Group channels iirc. They're in cahoots to steal money from poor addicts imo, seems pretty clear. This has been the case since before Sky Group sold Sky Bet a few years ago and I'm pretty sure will continue to be the case until transfer betting is banned.
  12. They're just using the media to take money from gambling addicts. It's really quite despicable when you think about it.
  13. In an unrelated note, all technical correspondence from the club will henceforth be written in crayon
  14. Most seasons I pick an opening team full of players with good fixtures up until the first international break, hopefully that way I build a little bit of value early then WC in any surprise packages and get myself onto the early template if I'm not already on it and get a good start to the season. Last season I think I WCd week 2 because us, City and United all blanked GW1. I feel like the WC is less powerful the further into the season we get (excluding before a DGW).
  15. There's an international break after GW3 so it would be a nice opportunity to reshuffle with a WC in case we're not as good as I think (hope) we're going to be but if the first 3 weeks do go to plan then I'll probably be keeping whichever 3 Villa players I end up with until further notice.
  16. I might just be struggling to take my claret and blue specs off but I fully expect 20+ goal involvements a piece from all of our front 4 this season assuming we're playing 4-2-3-1 with Buendia at 10. Grealish got 18 in 2/3 of a season, Watkins got 23 with Barkley sulking behind him half the time, even a half fit Traore got 14 only playing 2/3 of the minutes. With Buendia in there pressing and creating I can only see those numbers going up.
  17. Someone on the fpl pricing team must hate him. 140pts, not even nailed anymore, takes a Liverpool spot and a striker spot, he should be 7.5m maximum. The main problem I'm having is picking which Villa players to have. I think Watkins, Buendia and Grealish are all among the best options in their price bracket and I want some defensive representation, at least at the start.
  18. Blimey, all the expensive players are even more expensive this season. I think I had 4 10m+ players at points last season, I can barely squeeze 2 in now. Should lead to more variance between teams at least.
  19. It's literally a picture of McGinn with ESR's head crudely edited on
  20. This isn't over until we've tracked a completely unrelated private jet from Bremen to Cornwall on deadline day.
  21. Conspiracy theory: Villa know they won't be able to prize ESR away from Arsenal but are doing his agent a favour by bidding and raising his value during contract negotiations in return for said agent not kicking up a fuss about Grealish staying.
  22. It's near the start. He says he thought Villa's was good until he went there but he said it semi jokingly. I think Villa's will continue to be developed over the next few years though. The new building they just opened is supposed to be state of the art but a lot of the rest of BMH is still from the start of the Randy era.
