  1. Why basis , have you seen the signings we have made in the summer, they were close to being stupid . Plus the £100m release clause , it was a massive mistake.
  2. Analogue growth rather than spinning the wheel of fortune ( or misfortune) in the hope of a quicker but less sustainable growth is what we should go for.
  3. Would love to see chuck, Tim and Ramsey on the pitch together this season , the more minutes the better , in fact give them a whole game once we safe. They have played together for a few seasons, I think this is very important as they know how each other play , where they run and how they react in certain situations, none of them has looked out of place when they have come on in the premier League.
  4. He doesn't impose himself on games , there's no hunger in his game, Beundia showed bags of hunger in the 12 or so minutes he was on. He's obviously very talented , the through ball was quality but it's not enough for us. If we had the luxury of bringing him off the bench for a final 20 then yes , sign him , but we haven't .
  5. This all over the lad looks like he's readymade for the DM role and given our league position , fighting for nothing , I would give him the chance to shine .
  6. Good result, both teams were lacking and the ref was weak. Coutinho was quite , he doesn't impose himself on games like Beundia does , quality on the ball but I don't think he offers enough . My motm was Young.
  7. Ask your NHS doctor for a chose and book appointment, they use private health care providers when the NHS waiting list is long.
  8. You losing your employees contributions and the 20% tax rebate (40% if your a high earner) and any interest made on the investment . In my case that's a return of 25% per year ( I have no employee contributions). Even property doesn't return that well. The money saving expert forums are a gold mine for pension strategies. One guy has remortgaged his house to pay into his pension, 20% of 200k is 40k and his mortgage interest is less than the interest he makes on the 240k in his pension. I get the live for today mentality but the chances are heavily in favour of us living until retirement, unless your a Russian soldier .
  9. 2-2 draw. Stop the rot and set us up for a home win against Smith's Norwich.
  10. We sound like the Liverpool b team, this is partly why there's a disconnect between the villa and their fans.. That and the fact we lost a local based player , to a buy out clause and then sacked a local manager who had improved us season after season to appoint an inexperienced Liverpool legend who Purslow had a man crush over when he was at Liverpool. These are the facts and pisses me off we have been so stupid.
  11. Some are fickle but this whole site is built on opinions, of players and managers. I don't know what qualities the "happy clappers" have seen in Gerrard but I have struggled to see any tbh. Not one player has improved and most have regressed. Yes I'm a "naysayer" but from my angle it's built on reality while the happy clappers cling to nothing but hope. The areas been highlighted as weaknesses are no weaker than last season but our overall results are shitter with a stronger squad, it don't take Sherlock Homes to work out what's wrong. I hope my opinions are wrong and Gerrard shoves em right up my arse but unfortunately, for all of us, I don't think it's going to work out for him or us. Poor appointment. Lose against Leicester and Norwich and he should go.
  12. If we don't pick up at least a point in the next 2 games then he has to go........ I don't think we will lose the next two though but his appointment was a massive gamble and atm it's only a knats cock away from failure. One things for sure the owners will not be impressed with our form and watching other teams dig themselves out of certain relegation with improved results while we slump is compounding the issue. Purslow?
  13. Their egos don't allow it, Jack will not flourish there, he could have stayed and grown more as a player at Villa. At Liverpool with Klopp he would have been one of if not the best player in the world
  14. The City players just don't play him in at all , if they do pass to him it's in a nothing area. More than once he has been in decent positions and has just been ignored. I think egos are playing a big role in this city team with Grealish. He's got to raise his game to become the star man in that team before he can flourish, what a waste.
  15. If we lose to Leicester and Norwich then his position is seriously at risk. Football is brutal. He needs a minimum of 1 point in the next 2 games. More than our performances on the pitch the loss of interest in us from our fans is a real show of success or lack of it. Even Villatalk seems quiet.
  16. Boris's judgement is so bad I'm surprised his defence is how well he's dealt with the Ukraine Russia war. We won't know if sticking his and our heads out of the trench is a good or bad thing until it's completely over and Putin is gone. I note with interest that most within range of Putin's more deadly weapons are standing well behind Boris in all of this.
  17. Konsa Ming's Chambers Cash Young Doug Ramsey McGinn Coutinho Watkins 5 at the back, allowing Young and Cash to push on, 3 in the middle , any 3 of Doug, McGinn, Sansom, Nakamba, Ramsey or another. Then 2 up top, we have plenty of options but let's start with Coutinho and Watkins.
  18. Some garages are have been pulling out of the market. There's a garage at Star city that is doing a roaring trade, its down to taxi drivers getting rid of old diesels and converting old petrol cars to LPG. They can enter the low emmision zone without paying the charge. I predict LPG will be a growth market as more towns and cities go to low emmision zones .
  19. Could take the England job ?
  20. We had a left back who was maybe 75% as good as Digne and our 'players' player of the year. He was obviously popular amongst the squad and he was then let go on loan. Did this build the team spirit? I would doubt it, in fact after losing Grealish, Smith and then Target I would say its probably helped destroy it. Digne is now injured and we are now relying on Young. It hasn't worked out. Coutinho is a great player but he's a Loan player and he's stopping our own players developing. Chambers is a decent signing but we already had cover in that area, Hause. All decent signings when took in isolation but they haven't strengthened the team enough to improve our results. Where we needed strength was midfield, even if we loaned a half decent DM it would have improved the team far more than the signings we actually made. It was a misguided transfer window, much like last summer when we brought 3 players to replace 1 and none of them played on the left side with any real form. It may seem negative but this is actually happening right in front of ours eyes, good players have been signed but they have been the wrong fit for us, Digne being the most useful. Whoever is behind these signings does not seem to know what we needed when most of us did, scary.
  21. He will be off to manage Liverpool, he won't be here .
  22. He said he wants experience, they will not be young
