  1. I'm probably in the minority but I don't actually care who we get, not because I don't care about Villa or Football but because anyone one of the possible candidates could succeed or bomb and because if I looked at each of their faults there is not one of them I would say that's the man I want at Villa. There's naturally candidates that I want less and Sherwood is one of them but that is only down to not liking him from his playing days, his personality through the media and his lack of experience but none of that means he'll succeed or not. I'll care once the new man is in the role, I'll want to see changes but he'll have my full support. Though I'm also not so sure it is definitely going to be Sherwood.
  2. And more importantly how the new manager does! It's highly likely that the next Villa manager is going to be someone I've considered but at some point not wanted them as manager of Aston Villa, unless it's a major coup or someone very left field that I've not even considered. I won't be judging Fox by who that person is but how he does. Of course if he dithers about it and we're still not winning games or it is just a disaster then fair enough. While there is an obvious skill to being a good football manager there is a massive amount of luck to being successful. Luck probably isn't the right word but there has to be that click between club and manager. The best managers can go to another job but not be successful or a reversal of that, likewise many of the managers linked have there faults and bad history but it could be Villa that they click with.
  3. No but he is inconsistant. He does well at one club and poorly at the next. Good spells: Boro, Twente (Mark I), Derby Bad spells: England, Wolfsburg, Twente (Mark II), Forest. It is clearly working at Derby, he should stay there. History suggests no basis to indicate that he'll carry that into his next club. Right men, he has ruled himself out. Apparently there is still bad blood between him and us over Lerner’s U-turn and subsequent hiring of AMcL. Also Paul Clement has ruled himself out of a move anywhere before the end of this season. I still can't believe Lerner apparently took notice of the fans when it came to McLaren yet he went for McLeish instead. I'd like to think there was more to it than that but who knows. Lets hope Fox does have full control over the choice of manager.
  4. I'd love that if it happens! I've cocked up and working this evening, Gruff is playing down the road.
  5. Thanks for this Bicks. If you click on this link here to MixMag, there is a free download to their mixmag session, with an hour of top tuneage. http://www.mixmag.net/music/in-session/in-session-sherwood-pinch Cheers will download that. As for new music I'm looking forward to see what The Skints album will be like next month, the new tune is decent even if it's about London.
  6. I worked in a pub on a quiet Monday evening when a couple of scousers came in and asked if they could use the toilet. One of them did a big f**k off stinky shit in the sink. He was very lucky he got out the pub and got too far before I realised.
  7. My chat went well today, I got a good insight into the role I'm interested in and he gave me some "I can't give you any advantage in your application but ......." Which is a good sign I came across ok and got some good tips. Just the application and interview to go now and it's certainly going to be a challenging start if I am successful, that's without the fact it'll be a completely new role for me.
  8. Next week I'm attempting a bit of a career direction change. Most my experience is in hospitality & catering. There is a facilities manager role available where I work and I'm having a chat on Monday with one of the 2 that I think would interview me if I get that far. It is a direction I've been looking at but not had any luck even getting an interview so far, so I'm hoping that working here already will give me a bit of help.
  9. It's not exactly on the face of it a great job opportunity is it? Who ever goes in no matter what Lambert, Lerner, Fox tell them, they've got to be thinking that it could well be a short lived role. Whether Lambert should still be in charge or not aside, very very few managers if any would have lasted this long at any other club. Unless you've got no other option or happy with short term would you take a job where you may have lost it in 5 months or less? and it won't even be down to your performance in the role.
  10. Banging them in at Derby. We'd have to get the deal done at the speed of sound. A real race against the clocks. We'll have to wait and see it it ends up on Sky's yellow bar. I'll get me coat. Don't Panic
  11. Define support. Can I support him and still think it's best he was sacked? Because I think that's where I am. I think that is where the majority of fans are right now. Define majority, I don't support him. I think we all know what majority means it's pretty simple. I'm not answering for you or anyone else when I say that I think it's the case. There is no way of determining whether what I think is right. And anyway it's probably more supporting the team while he is in charge rather than supporting Lambert himself. The poor turnout of the protest was a good indicator if this. I'll use that word that you don't I understand but I also think that the majority actually think it was best he went but support the team while he is in charge.
  12. Define support. Can I support him and still think it's best he was sacked? Because I think that's where I am. I think that is where the majority of fans are right now.
  13. A sprain is ligament damage but get what you mean. It goes from just stretched a bit to a full rupture and any where in between. Fingers crossed it's the lower end and it will just be tomorrow out.
  14. Didn't you see the clip of him being met by Delph?
  15. I've always eat quite a lot of Tuna fresh and tinned despite not watching what I eat (which as of yesterday I'm going for it) I really enjoy tinned with various chopped salad and some chopped fresh chilli's mixed with mayo and on some salad leaves. With mayo something to avoid I tried using Greek yoghurt today and it was actually alright. Obviously healthier than Mayo but don't really know where Greek yoghurt is on the healthy scale though.
  16. Well it's pretty likely that he's been considering his options and you can't blame him really. He's made the right choice in the end. Let's home this news, Gil, a win and 2 goals gives everyone a much needed lift.
  17. I did Villa v Blues 2 days after ACL reconstruction. My season ticket was back of lower Holte so there was no chance of me doing those steps. Contacted the club before hand and they moved me to Lower Doug Ellis towards the front. The seat they actually gave me was hard to get in but I asked someone nearby if I could swap seats which they did. Probably shouldn't have gone but did. I had to make my own way on the train there as well. Did the trip as normal really though, just allowing time for a very slow hobble from Aston station to the ground. We won so it was worth the pain and hassle. A late Milner penalty, which was probably perfect for me to be able to protect my knee by pre-empting celebrations. The following game I did as normal in the Holte, I may have been down to one crutch.
  18. It was similar with Jordan Graham as well with Man Utd supposedly after him
  19. In fairness what does he know? Does he get anything right? Still waiting to see who the head of media is going to be after he reckoned he knew.
  20. We've been linked to both him and Mowatt recently. Mate who supports Leeds says they are far too reliant on them for their age and both are big positives in a season where there aren't many. Both good prospects with potential
  21. Seen that tweet by Dave Armitage? @davearmitage7: By the way, any Villa fans thinking PL's power on the wane, the announcement of the new Head of Media should put paid to that notion #avfc Really hope it's not James Nursey
  22. I'm not against getting him but it's hard to tell how good he actually is. He was a promising youngster and after a load of loan spells had a few good seasons with Swansea, one of which in the premier league. Players have had seasons as good as he did and never come close to matching it again, and that is playing regularly for the rest of their career.
  23. Clearly Lambert needs some help. But could it be that the club have told him it is either another player or another assistant manager but not both because money is too tight to mention at B6? If things weren't bad enough at the moment, you have now got Simply **** Red stuck in my head. Cheers
  24. KEA was forever losing track of runners. Though to be fair he was pretty good at timing runs himself, better than any current squad member. Forgetting about any price, I'd probably go Cleverley over KEA but only just.
  25. I did the Great South run in 2013 after barely 6 weeks training due to competitiveness with a mate who decided to do it earlier in the summer. I was nearly 32 and about 16 stone & even 2 weeks before I was sometimes struggling after 15mins on the treadmill. After thinking I was going to have to walk half of it I surprised myself getting a half decent time (all things considered) especially as the last couple of miles was against a very strong seafront wind. This should have spurred me on to continue actually getting fit. Doing 10 miles with little training or even any running history probably wasn't a brilliant idea and I've suffered with injuries and niggles as a result and when it comes to fitness I'm worse than before. Hopefully I've given my body enough rest (as well as being far too lazy), tomorrow is where I start to get back on track. Will need to take it slowly though or I expect my body will give up. Just need to pick some targets once I get a feel of how bad I actually am.
