  1. Keep doing them - make a note of what you wished you said after you reflect on the interview - put that in your locker for next time. I once had 2 interviews in 1 day - the morning was so - so - but it was fresh in my mind.....(what I wished I said) - afternoon interview went like a dream - I came out knowing I had bagged it (which I had) I won't give up, I'm sure it will all help in the long run and know I'll get there in the end. It's not like I've never got a job, just struggling for my next one. My last interview was the worst outcome as they actually offered me a job but not the one I went for, it was the same amount of money I was on and would have had to relocate which I was happy to do with the original role but not without a pay increase. Knowing they liked me but didn't think I was upto the role I was being interviewed for really pissed me off for a while. Having a break from looking for roles at the moment but will start again in the new year.
  2. This thread makes me want a new job more than ever. There's only one thing holding me back, I'm absolutely awful at interviews and have no idea why. I not only don't sell myself I often undersell my ability. I'm sure eventually i'll ace one and the right one, but its frustrating to say the least. Ultimately it must be confidence, which is a weird one as I am confident in my own ability, even if I have to do things that I've never done before. Its just interviews which I struggle at big time which makes it even more frustrating.
  3. I think I would try the same formation next, but with Weimann instead of Gabby (suspended or not) and that trio in midfield as its pretty balanced, and all 3 of the centre backs are pretty good at driving forward when they get a chance which is effective at pulling the opposition out of position. Cleverley should also cover Hutton better than Weimann did with Lowton. As long as we play positively and allow Hutton and Cissokho forward then it could work well.
  4. Always been a massive fan of him but also recognise the missing parts of his games and his faults. I do however always have that feeling that one day it will click and he will be world class. It may never happen but he wouldn't be the first player to go from good player to class mid to late twenties. He seems like a player that trains hard anyway so either it will just either just click or it will be down to the coaching or playing with better player if he is to reach that level if he has it in him. It's a pretty hard decision for him, are we holding him back? will he get enough opportunities at a bigger club? I just hope we have a good second half of the season and we can keep hold of him.
  5. If it was even possible for Gabby to have pulled out of the challenge he would get dogs abuse on here for not being committed. Richardson's sending off was an example of someone who should have pulled out of a challenge, this was not. Gabby deserves criticism sometimes but this certainly isn't one of those occasions and a 60/40 sending off as you put it is madness.
  6. Cleverly is "Deep Throat"? cough cough Looks like Keane has been passing the time reading his thread on here.
  7. Lambert has dropped him this season hasn't he? Or am I going mad? Yes, he was dropped for the Spurs game. I didn't mean it never happens, just he can have an awful run of many games and not be in danger of his place. Though he may not even of been 100% for Spurs if N'Zogbia was picked ahead of him. With his ok run for the last few games it probably shouldn't be one of those times he should be dropped, well not if we continue in our typical formation anyway.
  8. It was right that he got a new contract but Lambert also needs to have the bollocks to drop him if he's not performing or for a different formation.
  9. I admire your optimism of us having a team that Delph isn't good enough to get in.
  10. It's difficult for others to take the pressure off him because he's the only world class player we have. He is a complete striker, physically and technically, and is certainly miles ahead of any of our other players which is why we see such a difference when he plays. He was getting caught offside a fair bit against Leicester the commentators were saying it was poor him being offside all the time. I couldn't decide whether it was Benteke or that those playing the ball were a bit slow to see the pass. Probably sometimes one, sometimes the other but it's got to be frustrating if you view the game much quicker than teammates.
  11. I think it was the Clark thread I mentioned this but I'd give him a lot of credit for the improvement of both Clark & Baker. They get dragged out of position far less than when with Bennett, Luna or Bertrand.
  12. Not really seen a replay but I thought he possibly bottled that low cross from Gaby as he didn't fancy the collision with Schmeichel.
  13. Loved the tackle. Exactly what was needed after Westwood's Injury. Unfortunate Ulloa got Injured but it was good for the team and the fans. Gaby got the blame for injuring him by the commentators second half anyway. I think a big part of Clark & Baker's improvement, isn't down to them at all, but Cissokho. Previously the left backs caused them both to be out of position too often.
  14. Still not decided on Cleverley but fear that there is an agreement for the deal anyway. I think he is probably a £6-8m player but not with his contract to end in the summer.
  15. It was a club interview when Delph said he'd be happy to spend the rest of his career here wasn't it? Even without Villa turning what he said into good PR for the club, I imagine the question asked isn't exactly easy to answer otherwise without pissing of fans somehow.
  16. For a large parts of his Villa career Delph has either been injured or abject and its really only in the last 12-18 months that he's shown any sign of real quality. I'm just upset that after the club have stuck by him for so long, he's chosen to repay that faith by apparently refusing to sign a new contract and jumping ship just because he's hit a little bit of form. So Delph's career should be held back because it has already been held back by injury? Football is just like a job where you want progress. At Villa i want career minded players, there is always the chance of them leaving, especially in the state we are in but they are going to be striving to be as good as they can. Otherwise you get players like Gaby who are too comfortable. I see it as quite a lot different to Downing and though I want him to stay and rate him very highly, I don't blame him and I'd certainly be considering my options if I was in the same position and that is being a Villa fan.
  17. Like many after high hopes I'd given up on him, so it's good too see him play well. If he keeps his place his next test will be when we concede earlier on in the game as previously he just seemed to fall apart, especially if it was his mistake.
  18. Completely unrealistic but just read Henry has finished his contract with NY Red Bulls. I'm sure he could certainly have an impact through his playing experience if no management experience. May as well get him on a playing contract as well while we're at it.
  19. Meulensteen or Ray Wilkins myself. Isn't Ray Wilkins the manager of Jordan or something like that? Well, if only we could score as many as the men that have scored with her.
  20. really? Delph contributes nearly no assists or goals. decent player but he is hardly that much of a difference Disagree. I think he makes a huge difference, our only midfielder who looks to drive forward with the ball and has the ability to ghost past players. Was going to write similar. Without Delph we hardly break the opposition's midfield line let alone the defensive line. A driving run mixes everything up and creates spaces. While not an assist in the stats, these runs can be as important as a final ball in creating chances.
  21. Man Utd sing something to the same tune guessing it's probably follow United away
  22. Just had a look to check which tune it was and what was being said. Think it was on The Star site but it was headlined as 'vile chanting', not sure whether to laugh or cry. If there was a god The FA would over react and ban the band from attending matches.
  23. Is this a question? Are you making a point? I'm confused What? You can discuss the manager in the Paul Lambert thread. Your answers Stevo: 1. Making a point 2. Just because Lambert picks Westy every week for the Premier League doesn't make him a Premier League player? There's a reason we are a boring dire turgid side to watch and Westwood is one of them! 3. When did you elevate to a mod? Sometimes when the same stuff is typed over and over and over again regardless of the thread, people will politely tell you you're in the wrong because they're so fed up with it ruining the forum for everybody else. You have an opinion. That's fine. Forcing it down everybody's throats in increasingly witless ways in every thread regardless of context is not. To be honest, I'm more bored reading your constant defence of Westwood. It works both ways. This thread is like a stuck record from both sides. Nearly 200 pages of the same crap from both points of view. Although It's one of life's constants, if it stopped I'd be worried something is seriously wrong and the end of the world would be close.
  24. What ever has been keeping him out of the side, I'd be surprised if it's physically to do with the ACL reconstruction, not mentally ready yes, Lambert simply thinking others are better options, general fitness, other niggles all possible and more but while there's no doubt ACL injuries can affect careers, his rehab should be done by now.
