  1. They were linked in the summer
  2. I didn't even get an interview for the facilities manager role I went for where I work. Back to the job hunt it is.
  3. We always attack much more down the right with Hutton, I'm not sure if this is because Hutton is better or because he has much more support than Cissokho gets when attacking down the left. It always seemed like the case under Lambert, it was a bit more balanced the other day.
  4. Id love us to set up with this team and formation today. I dont know whether it would have Gil dropping a little deeper to receive the ball or Bacuna and Sinclair dropping but it has pace power and attacking intent. Was just going to post the same formation, which is what I'd like to see. As if it's true Westwood & Cleverley aren't starting then it looks like 2 in the middle. Not sure how it would work in general play but I'd possibly play Bacuna on the left. He would want to come inside all the time which although it might be predictable, if he does get space you know what he can do, it will also give Cissokho a bit of space on the overlap. Gil can choose where ever the hell he wants to play, drop deep, support Benteke or out wide. Even if he is put on the right he needs to have license to roam.
  5. Well let's hope Riley was a bigger factor in some of our successful transfers rather than Lambert, either side of his spell at Liverpool. Hasn't McLeish said that Benteke was in a pool of potential players that he had while in charge?
  6. Albrighton was absolutely class in the West Ham game. It was a great start to the season all round, how things changed
  7. I get a student concession ticket (I do have a student ID card) it bleeps as I go through but never been questioned despite looking far too old to be a student. So I agree just go for it, leaving a bit of time if you are unlucky.
  8. I've seen this mentioned in passing but not seen any proof... There's definitely been a couple of pictures posted the first he was with a group of people and the second in the stand. Not seen them since they were posted to see if he is wearing the same clothing but each was posted after 2 separate games.
  9. If I was a player i don't think I'd even notice what was playing and certainly wouldn't care. It's not to say it's not important though, if it helps get the crowd going. Chants of Villa from The Holte and the rest of the ground would get me much more pumped up.
  10. It probably has been a bit over board at times since the final whistle went Sunday but it's definitely nice to see a bit of optimism
  11. Would be interesting to know what Lineker thought as you could really tell if he was just being a presenter. Going by he didn't make too much of an argument I guess he didn't think it was either.
  12. Yeah, as soon as the ball went to him I called the goal. You could just see he was going to have the time and space to cut inside and he's got a great curling shot, never in doubt.
  13. Is a couple of passionate team talks going to save our season? No of course it isn't, but there is no denying it made the difference today. What ever was said and the change in tactics meant the second half was much better than the first, which frankly wouldn't have been hard but it was a huge change. Can't remember any of your posts on Sherwood getting the job if you did, but your comments strike me as someone that doesn't want him here and won't change your mind till you're given no option. A passionate half time team talk has changed many a game, so I can't believe your giving him no credit at all. The motivational approach can only get you so far and the hard work will need to be done on the training pitch and on match day if we're going to carry this big lift past a game or two.
  14. Did you think we we had a better chance of staying up with Lambert?
  15. That's the problem, he hasn't been. Weimann isn't a particularly good player in that wide role but N'Zogbia hasn't shown any signs of even matching Weimann let alone owning that position.
  16. I'd want Sherwood working with a new DOF rather than the DOF buying players that the manager hasn't had a say with but other than that can't see a problem.
  17. Which is odd, because under the Agency Workers Rights legislation if those agency workers establish a pattern over thirteen weeks then they're entitled to the same wage and conditions as directly employed workers doing the same job. A season of match days is a pattern so I'm guessing they'd end up paying anyway. It's a strange and complicated world. They can probably argue it isn't such a strong pattern as its not every week, the match day changes as well as kick off time so its not the same shift every week. In my job we pay living wage to contracted staff but not to casuals(which are non agency) although with unions involved this may change. The casuals get an hourly rate which is supplemented with holiday pay.
  18. Don't forget Sinclair im really trying to forget him. awful player Nice to see you've given him a chance
  19. I probably wouldn't have chose him, but as I said I didn't really care he we got. It just needs to work. Important it was done quickly and it has been. It was always possible with him being at our games recently. Which gives 2 possible reasons; this has been in the process for a little while or he was like a Vulture waiting for the kill. Whichever it is, he has being preparing for this possibility. Watching our games and assessing what he thinks we need to do. Lets hope he's got a plan, which no doubt he has, he's gone in with and spoke to Villa 'prepared' and it's got him the job. Which as a positive, which other candidate has prepared as well as this for the job?(excluding work experience)
  20. Has he actually said that? I wouldn't be surprised if we bring someone in short term with a decent bonus if they keep us up. However, if it is a 3 year deal with a nominal compensation then at least it protects us to some degree. There has got to be very few potential managers that would be happy with a short term deal. Probably just those who want to earn some quick money or those who have nothing to lose (some one like Curbishley, God forbid)
  21. West Ham fans still don't particularly like him and as been mentioned his contract is running out and I think he is likely to be replaced if Gold and the porn dwarf think they can get someone better.
  22. For those that are suggesting Allardyce (who I think is quite realistic as I think West Ham will be looking for a change soon) Did you want him for our manager the previous 3 searches? Or are you going by West Ham's form this season?
