  1. Hogan apparently didn't turn to the end of season awards gala yesterday, of course it's not just about the first team, but their women's team and academy teams, who did okay, but strange to hold the event on the same weekend that the main team gets relegated.
  2. Maybe Derby County would be a good fit, they seem to like our form players Hourihane, Collins, Blackett-Taylor, Chester, and Davies, have all played for them in the last two seasons,
  3. They seem to think they can spend what they want in League One next season because owners can supposedly put in what they want at that level, which I think is true, but if promoted it then gets counted towards FFP in the Championship and so would limit what they could spend at that level, so in reality they won't be spending what they would have done if they'd have stayed up like many of their fans seem to think, also and probably most relevant, they won't be spending as much as they think as the players who would cost that much won't drop down to League One level
  4. Today's performance wasn't just about being tired, Emery had them playing in a certain way to try and conserve energy with Thursday in mind, which happens to be a massive game for the club, it's what we've been doing for a while when we have Thursday and weekend matches, we didn't manage to get a result today whilst doing it, but if it means we manage to turn the semi-final around then frankly it will have been worth it.
  5. We're more likely to finish top four now than we were this morning, on the same points relative to Spurs, but now one less game for them to catch us. We have three chances to seal Champions League Qualification in the next nine days, Burnley beating Spurs, us beating Liverpool, or Manchester City beating Spurs
  6. Why are people talking as if we aren't going to win another game, total disrespect to Emery, we've just lost to Brighton and Olympiacos, we could well lose to Olympiacos again bcause they have a two goal advantage, so that will be three defeats in a row, but we aren't going to end the season with five defeats in a row or whatever, Emery doesn't let this happen, we will get at least three points from Liverpool and Palace, maybe more
  7. Rushian Hepburn-Murphy has been released by Swindon Town
  8. Ciaran Clark and Wesley have both been released by Stoke City
  9. What a strange coincident that they sack Rowett in 2016 whilst he has them in play-off contention to replace him a 'name manage', causing them to struggle, and then they do the same this season replacing Eustace with Rooney whilst they're sixth in the table and again as a consequence they struggle, and it's those two sacked managers that come back to haunt them and finally condemn them to League One, Eustace getting an unlikey win away to Leicester, and Rowett failing to keep them up, and to add to the cruel twist of fate both happen to be Villa fans.
  10. We were two goals down in the first leg and managed to bring it back ot 2-2, and we will have more time to do it on Thursday and to score more, just have to make sure we don't concede. Not super confident but it's possible
  11. I had a look Blackburn transfer thread earlier today, and most were listing him as a player they would like to bring in for next season. He did well to get a Championship loan in the first place, if he's done well enough to get another move there next season then even better.
  12. National League Play-Off Final goes to penalties
  13. If Spurs can beat Liverpool as so many seem to think, then so can we, just because we played poorly today doesn't mean we will do so for the rest of the season, it doesn't work like that
  14. I don't understand how there wasn't more added time, Brighton blatantly time wasted about half the nine minutes given, there should have been at least a few more minutes. Not that we looked scoring
  15. Liverpool have been really poor of late, like baffingly poor, not just by the standards of a team that's meant to be one of the best in the league, but by any standard, watching some of their recent games seems every other touch of the ball for them is a mistake, i'm not super confident of them beating Spurs, Spurs haven't been brilliant themselves but LIverpool have been worse Hopefully they're due a good performance and win today
  16. Rachel Maltby played the full 90 minutes as England won their first game of the U17s Euros 3-0 against Norway
  17. Hermoso would be Lenglet replacementt, Mings will get a lot of game time if his injury hasn't affected him too much, as we will play a lot of games with Pau and Mings in central defence, and Konsa as a right-back
  18. If Solihull Moors win today they will be closer to them than us in the football pyramid.
  19. From highlight videos that Fofana looks more like McGinn type midfielder than Kamara, although Percy said we want DM and CM, so maybe he would be a CM option and the DM would be someone else
  20. Who ever doesn't come up out of Leeds and Southampton would be able to afford him, if Norwich don't come up and sell Rowe they would be able to afford him Middlesbrough have the Rogers money and probably money will probably get twenty million plus for Hackney Hull will likely be getting a big fee for Jacob Greaves, and potentially some money for Philogene Burnley would be able to afford him Sheffield United have said he's leaving them because they need the guaranteed money, but haven't ruled him going back there longer term After the success of Rogers and Wharton a lot of clubs will be looking towards the Championship for talent, so some clubs might have more money to spend than usual We ourselves might be intereted in a Championship player, and look to use Archer as part of the deal to bring that player in And then there's the possibility of him going to another Premier League team, maybe Ipswich, or whoever comes up from play-offs I'm not sure another loan would be that bad if it's to the right club, as if he helps them get promoted, we would probably get a bigger then than we would now
  21. I'm not super confident for this game, just for the reason it seems we've beaten them so many times recently that it feels as though they're long due a win against us. Although we're in a good position overall with so few games left, so whatever happens will be still hopeful for top four
  22. Carla Ward has done very well overall, first season with her we comfortably avoided relegation and established ourselves in the WSL, at that time we didn't have a lot of quality in the squad, our best players were probably Mayling and Hampton, our best attacker was Lehmann and she wasn't as good then as she is now, second season was our best season ever in pretty much every aspect, league placing, points total, goals scored, cup run, and this season has been our second best season ever by the same measures I just hope we do a good job of replacing her, I would be fine with someone like Melisa Phillips, if we can get someone who's been more succesful and is a good fit even better, worry is we're no longer that bothered about the women's team and go for an uninspring cheap option, when Darren Carter left small heath for example and said he has other opportunities, I wondered if he could be coming to us, but as an assistant coach to Ward, I hope we would't appoint him as Head Coach We've invested a lot in the academy so someone who's prepared to give them a chance might make sense, that's one area where Ward maybe could have done better, obviously if they're not good enough or ready they can't play, but the likes of Freya Gregory and McLoughlin who are proven to be good enough at WSL level could have played more, and at times this season when the bench has been so threadbare surely we could have put some of the U21s on there even if just for the experience
  23. Regardess of whether that specific rumour is true, I think we can take it as a given that there will be a lot of interest in him, from Championship clubs, and maybe even a few Premier League teams, so if we want to sell, I don't think we will have any problems in doing so, and should still get a decent fee, as clubs will see his goals as possibly being the difference between promotion or not
  24. There's a rumour that MIddlesbrough are trying to do a deal for him and use the money we owe them for Rogers to part fund it
