  1. Spurs remaining games are so incredibly difficult, Newcastle are very good at home so that won't be easy for them, then Liverpool, Man City, and Arsenal, are the three best teams in the league home and away, and Chelsea will give them a good game just by virtue of the fact it being a derby, I think they will be doing incredibly well to average a point a game over the next five, it wouldn't surprise me if they end up with three or less from those games I think we will have fourth place sewn up before they even play their final two games.
  2. Of course we've had a dip in form, what do people expect, if we'd have carried on the way we were we would have been title challengers, Spurs have also had dips in form, hence them taking just seven points from West Ham, Fulham, Luton, and Forest, rather than the ten plus points some were predicting, and also hence them being on the exact same points as us
  3. I'm the past master at predicting where Spurs are likely to drop points, they were always likely to win today, but from West Ham and Fulham they took just one point, I remember people taking it as a given they would get maximum points from those games, they haven't exactly been convincing against Luton and Forest, whilst we're still so close to them, literally on the same points, we still have a really good chance of finishing ahead of them
  4. If we were in Spurs position and they ours can pretty much guarantee people would be saying that they're favorites for fouth because we could only take one point from Fulham and West Ham so haven't gained enough of an advantage over them going into Newcastle, Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal, and Man City
  5. Chelsea unbeaten in seven now
  6. Our position relative to Spurs is better than I thought, even now that they're beating Forest they're still only on the same points as us, and their next five games for them are Newcastle, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool, so we're still in with a really good chance of fourth regardless of what happens with them today
  7. The only threats to us not getting Champions League now are Spurs and or fifth place not being enough, all teams like Manchester United, Chelsea, and so on, are irrelevant.
  8. Manchester United could have won their last two and they still would be six points behind, realistically seven points with goal difference taken into consideration, they would barely have a chance of catching us even in that scenario, even them winning today wouldn't have made much difference to their chances of catching us, as they would still be nine points behind plus goal difference, never mind now whilst we're eleven points ahead of them and again with a big goal difference advantage
  9. Time to stop studying what other teams can do and just beat Lille and Arsenal
  10. We bought Rogers because Ramsey is the only specialist we have on that left hand side, we needed another option there whether Rogers or someone else, it's an added bonus that he can also play as a No.10 or in that area, so when Ramsey returns, if selected they can both play in the same team. If anything Rogers is more of a threat to Buendia for a place in the starting eleven than Ramsey
  11. I didn't realize there were only five games left in the Championship, of the teams in the relegatoin battle they've probably got the easiest game in the week, so really need to win that, otherwise will be in a precarious position and runnng out of games. If Norwich have already qualified for the Play-Offs on the final day then that could be a big help to them, when Wagner was Huddersfield manager and their place in the play-offs was confirmed he made ten changes for the final game of the season, their opponents that day happened to be small heath, Huddersfield lost the game and it saved small heath from relegation, even a draw wouldn't have been enough as would have been relegated on goal difference So hopefully history doesn't repeat
  12. When he made the foul he would have been oblivous in his conscious thoughts to the fact that a yellow card would have resulted in a ban, all his attention and focus would have been on trying to do what he can to help us win the game, he was in the zone, if game had have already been won like it should have been, then he wouldn't have made that tackle that resulted in the yellow, so his ban is basically another consequence of us throwing away the lead like we did as a team
  13. I thought Tieleman's was to blame for their third goal, gave away a really stupid and unnecessary foul for the set-piece that lead to it, when there was no need at all, just looked a lazy foul, was all the more ridiculous because they were on the up having just come from two goals down and we would have been nervous defensively, so last thing we needed was to give away a cheap free-kick in a dangerous area, and so it proved, not saying he should be castigated for it, but surprised he hasn't had any blame at all
  14. We've gone from being relegation candidates last season to being guaranteed sixth this season, very likely to get at least fifth, still in with a chance of fourth, and still have a chance of qualifying for the Champions League, if that doesn't work out Europa League qualification won't be a bad consilation prize at all, and are in the quarters of our first European campaign in over ten years, and in with a chance of winning the whole thing, all whilst suffering long term injuries to Mings, Buendia, Kamara, and Ramsey. Just chillax man, we're having a great season
  15. Fourth is still possible, Spurs are favorites now, but they are just as capable of having a result like ours today as we are. I'd expect them to beat Forest tomorrow, but if Newcastle can do us a favor next weekend by beating them, then they will be no more than three points ahead of us going into a difficult run of fixtures where they play Man City, Arsenal, Chelsa Liverpool, so we've still got a chance, we really could do with them losing a game where they're not expected to, or even better us getting an unexpected win, to put us back into pole position
  16. I suspect neither Martinez or Watkins will start tomorrow, if involved at all, when Emery says in his pre-game press conferences that such and such player is going to have a late fitness test to determine whether they will be involved or not, that player doesn't end up playing
  17. Rotherham relegated. Been a good loan for Revan though, thirty Championship appearances so far
  18. They will sink to 21st in the table if Plymouth can get a result tonight away to Rotherham
  19. Selling Ramsey has never been part of the plan, that idea is just fans presuming based on Jacob Tanswell tweet saying Newcastle were interested because we needed to sell before we buy, before that there was no talk whatsoever of him being sold for FFP reasons, and the dumb thing is if you'd have read the article that that tweet linked to even that said that we didn't want to sell him and have other ways of making the money, all the article really amounted to was that Newcastle were interested in him, but even that turned out to be not true, as Howe came out and said so publicly, because they have FFP issues of their own, and Emery himself has also stated several times since that Ramsey isn't for sale and is a big part of his plans I think many are too fixated on this idea of selling youngsters or players that came through our academy just because we did it several times last summer, but they weren't first team players, so it's completey different to Ramsey, Ramsey isn't comparable to them, he's one of our best players and one of the first names on the teamsheet when fit, he's also one of the players least likely to want to leave
  20. He's signed his first professional contract I watched him play a little in ZED Cup, looks a very good technical player, with very quick feet, was a standout for sure I don't think it will be long before we see him involved with our U21s
  21. I think Brighton actually have a very tough finish to the season, especially considering they've only won three of their last fifteen, and take away the first six games their form has pretty much been lower midtable form, so if they get sixth now they will have more than deserved it as will require a big turnaround in form and against some tough opponents, could argue they're second favorites in all their remaining games other than Burnley, they seem just as likely to drop into bottom half of the table as finish sixth They've had a few bad results made worse by the manner in which the points were dropped, but it will probably be Machester United that get that sixth spot, they've been doing this all season, bad results but just doing enough to remain top six, if they do falter probably more likely that Chelsea or Newcastle will catch them as they have easier run-ins than Brighton If Brighton can avoid finishing lower than tenth then that will be a good season for them and was indeed the club's target at the start of the season, next season the target is to finish in Europe and win a trophy, so putting some pressure on themselves, and presumably going to spend in the summer
  22. De Zerbi has taken ninety-one points from sixty-one games as Brighton manager, they've been the eighth best team points wise in that time The fairest way to compare him to Potter is to look at Potter's final sixty-one games, not really fair to go back to Potters first seaons as their squad obviously wasn't as good then In Potter's final sixty-one games they took eighty-six points, and were also eighth best team in the league during that time So the records are actually very similar, De Zerbi slightly better Where you could argue that De Zerbi edges it furthermore is that they've sold more of their star players whilst he's been there Caicedo, Mac Allister, Sanchez, Trossard, and then Bissouma and Cucurella were sold just before he came in, so it was more him that was affected by their sales than Potter
