  1. What the hell is going on, we win European Quarter final tie, and people more interested in other teams' results. Just finish fourth, when or if it gets to the stage where we can't achieve that then worry about what finishing fifth will mean, but as it stands we're still in with a brlliant chance of getting top four, and our league games are far more important to achieving that end than how other clubs are doing in Europe, it race for Champions League, we have to run that race, Emery is the pacemaker
  2. Best case scenario is we finish fourth and win the Conference League But one win in five in the league, more likely than not it will be one win in six after Sunday, so going to need a strong finish to the season Luckily we're still in a good position relative to Spurs whatever happens at the weekend, the worst case scenario is three points off them but with them having a really tough run of games to come, if Newcastle beat them that's already a good weekend for us, it's one of those where we could get a good draw away to Arsenal, but if Spurs beat Newcastle, we will be worse of in our pursuit for fourth than we would be if both teams lost, so if Newcastle can beat them that would be a great help to us I think we can beat Lllle away from home, but wrong to presume if we overcome them then it will be easy, we're just as likely to come unstuck against a team we're expected to beat Pour moi I want Conference League win the most, we desperately need to win a trophy, twenty-seven years since our last is way too long, if we achieve that doesn't really matter what else happens, Conference League win and Champions League or Europa League, would be our best season maybe since European Cup win, but the important element in making it so is to actually win a trophy
  3. Some bloody over reactions in here, we haven't been that bad
  4. We're winning but have been poor in the final third, nearly every attack our final ball has been letting us down, with better decision making we could have had another two or three goals. They look vulnerable defensively, but we're not getting a hold of the ball enough to take advantage of that
  5. The loan players are included in that list, Stansfield, Aiwu, Drameh, and Dozzell. Other than Jordan James and George Hall if he can stay fit, I don't think they own a single player that a promotion chasing team would particularly want
  6. Stansfield, Aiwu, Drameh, Burke, Sunjick, Dozzell, Hogan, Gardner, Roberts, Jutkiewicz, Etheridge, Anderson, and Ruddy all out of contract in the summer, so going to lose a big chunk of their squad regardless, of those I think only Stansfield and Drameh they would keep if they had a choice
  7. That Wagner supposedly said at fans forum the other day that relegation won't affect their transfer plans, maybe he was misquoted by their fans, but whatever happens I think they're going to need a big clear out anyway, if they stay up current squad is nowhere near good enough for a promotion challenge, and if they go down half of them will want to leave.
  8. They're still only a point from safety with better goal difference than the two teams immediately above them, and two of their remaining games are against teams currently in the bottom four, and it's also possible that Norwich could have nothing to play for on the final day so will play a weakened team, so they've still got a chance of staying up. But also they've lost eight and won just one of the last ten, and some of their performances have been truly diabolical, I wouldn't even be super confident of them beating Rotherham, their form hasn't been any better than Rotherham's over the last ten games and Rotherham already took a point off them this season I watched some of Gary Rowett's post match interview after last night, and he was saying that he said to the players if they don't care at least think of the people it will affect, he then made a comment about players walking off into the sunset at the end of the season, not sure what kind of message that sends out, almost implies that some of their players don't care, maybe he made it public to try and get a reaction They might find some form as teams in relegation battles sometimes do from nowhere at the end of a season, but their best hope is probaby that the teams around them mess up
  9. They've got to pay Jean-Kevin Augustin £24.5m in compensation, they agreed a deal with him worth 93k a week over five years, and a £2.5m signing on fee, but despite promotion never honoured their agreement. Overall the transfer has cost £40m plus
  10. I don't blame Daly for retiring, if she's hardly going to be used let a younger player have a chance in the squad, and she can go out on a high, and can concentrate on her club football Corsie made her 150th appearance for Scotland, 61 as captain, 20 goals, big achievement, I suspect she will move on in the summer, but overall has been a very good signing for us Leon scored two goals against US in the She Believes Cup, but unfortunately for her and Canada they lost the game on penalties Magill also got a goal for Northern Ireland in their 3-1 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina
  11. I don't think Atairos ever had an article on their website regarding their investment in V Sports, it was just a link to the article on our website, which is still there. In fact they don't have any news articles on their website at all, all their news items are links to other websites.
  12. Almirón has played in most of their games this season, they will probably sell him in the summer as will get a decent fee, but he will need to be replaced, not sure if there will be scope to replace both him and Murphy who is basically his understudy, in ideal world they would probably replace Murphy and keep Almirón as backup, but Almirón will fetch a bigger fee I think they will look to sell the likes of Almirón Wilson, Dummett, Targett, Dubravka, Fraser, Lewis, and possibly Longstaff or Joelinton to raise some money I'd be surprised if they sold either of Isak or Guimarães, surely their owners will want to save face by not losing either of their two big stars, if they do so before they've even achieved anything doesn't say much for the idea that they're planning on being some giant force in the game, when you look at Newcastle squad it doesn't have much star quality other than those names
  13. They will probably spend a decent amount in an attempt to get them to the Premier League which would give them a better chance of eventually making a profit, but there's a big difference between that and being the next Manchester City.
  14. A lot of their fans genuinely seem to think they're going to be the next Manchester City, I'm seeing constant references to their new development being akin to what happened at City, and them referring to themselves as our 'noisey neighbours'. Their owner isn't doing much to manage expectations, apparently said at a fans forum yesterday that they could potentially spend more than any Championship club ever in the summer, which would take some doing as both us and Newcastle spent sixty million plus in one window, and even then we raised half of that with sales, and Newcastle actually made a profit that summer, and both teams had parachute payments
  15. When they sacked Eustace they were fifteen points ahead of Sheffield Wednesday, they're now a point behind them. Röhl was apponted Wednesday manager a few days later, they've been twelfth best team in the league since then, over the same period, only Rotherham have taken fewer points than small heath, and there is quite a big gap to the next worst team Swansea, who have taken eight points more, so if they do survive they will have that start under Eustace to thank for it

    Louie Barry

Made his comeback today coming on in the 64th minute, Stockport are all but promoted after winning 2-1
  17. Both Leicester and Leeds drop points, Ipswich in with a genuine chance of not only getting autmomatic promotion but winning the whole league.
  18. Aarons was genuinely very good at one point, one of Norwich's best players when he was still a teenager, in his case he probably stayed with them too long and didn't progress. Jamal Lewis is another from Norwich who was very highly rated, got a big money move to Newcastle, but playing on loan for Watford who have an option to buy him
  19. All in all not a bad set of results, they drop to 23rd after Sheffield Wednesday equalizer, Plymouth also gain a point on them, and Millwall win unexpectedly so that's one less team they're likely to catch
  20. Borland arguably already ahead of Wilson, broke into the U21s at an earlier age, has already played more minutes at that level despite being over a year younger, has also been pictured training with the first team on several occassions whereas Wilson hasn't, obviously there are no guarantees, but Borland looks a top prospect. I hope Wilson is being advised wisely, as I think his path is going to need careful planning and patience,
