  1. I wonder if Bruce's strange tactic of playing his strikers out wide pulled Mings around abit. He's looked really good defensively since we got screwed by the offside goal at man city. Seems to have stripped his game back a little. However, I get the feeling he's hitting it long a lot more now and without Grealish to help hold the ball up front, it is getting turned over too much. Interesting to see if stats back that up.
  2. I'm sure I saw some of those remakes advertised on eBay for about £50.
  3. Leeds fans currently have Targett as their public enemy number one following our match. I find this hilarious as he is such a wet dweeb that I can't ever imagine being wound up by him.
  4. Yeah, granted, but sky are just as guilty. They just like talking about "top, top, top players" MNF has a day to dissect stuff which must make it easier though.
  5. To me, that is a fantastic bit of analysis. The type of thing we need to see more of instead of the regurgitation of "pace and power' that seems to be the only thing MOTD pundits will ever say. I found that really interesting as it is something I wouldn't have picked up myself and is the type of insight you want from someone who has been in the game.
  6. Having a mic on the ref and VAR would help to increase understanding. I think that would have to look like the NFL a little where the ref controls when the mic works and can summarise what the decision has been. If the mic picked everything up from conversations with players, to the VAR, and then an explanation I think it would get messy...but a worded summary from the ref with time to formulate what they say could work. I'd certainly be happier.
  7. Jordan Henderson. I don't get it. Seems to get lauded in these videos where he's shouting encouragement to his team but think he's an average, athletic player who is a bit of a cheerleader. £20m doesn't look a lot nowadays but when Liverpool spent that on him it was a big deal.
  8. Really pissing me off now. They get handed one dubious penalty a week since the start of the season and now that they have stopped I can't remember a recent match where OGS hasn't used the post-match interview to complain about not getting them. Not only in that match, but matches before and ones that haven't even been played yet! And now all the players are joining in too. What a bunch of pricks.
  9. It was Trencin in Slovakia. Which means his coach said "si veľké kurva, choď vpredu"
  10. I read an article when he first joined that in his first team after moving from Brazil (think they were in the Ukraine possibly) he kept telling the coach he was a no 10. The coach just said "nah, you're a big ****, get up front" but in Ukrainian. His natural position is definitely deeper than a striker's.
  11. All of the foreign lads that came that summer were decent pick ups. Just a shame it went so horribly wrong.
  12. His main fault seems to be finishing one on ones. He's missed a fair few of those. Would never call them sitters though.
  13. The problem here is that a quick free kick isn't meant to have the whistle. You just take it. I imagine he's held his whistle up to signify to both teams to wait for that. From then he should wait until everyone is set. But he doesn't, and traps Johnstone with him against the post. It is all correct in the end by my god Lee Mason has made himself look like a weapons grade helmet in that match.
  14. Possibly. Bit of confirmation bias perhaps. But look at today...gets a goal, confidence to fire in shots all match and run at players. Same against Palace at home. West ham at home, can't remember him even controlling it. To me that seems a trend. Nevertheless, he's a good option to have in the squad at our current level and needs.
  15. Agreed...but I do find it odd that he never seems to have games where he has a good period and then goes missing for a bit. He either seems to have a very good game or a very poor one. Strangely you can normally tell within the first five minutes.
  16. Today, I read about a new topic called the 'Jungian Shadow'.
  17. Feels a lot like the mystery shin problem that kept him out during our Championship season. Can't remember how long that was. Maybe ten games? Could this be a similar time frame?
  18. Classic El Ghazi. If he has success with his first action of the match then he feels like his dick is knocking his kneecaps and has a strong game. If he gets bullied a couple of time instead, then he finds it hard to pick up from that. Probably the biggest 'confidence player' I've ever seen.
  19. I'm really impressed with how he takes the ball in. There was a moment in the first half where he took it on the half turn and then drove at the defence before trying to play El Ghazi in. The ball was cut out but it was a good piece of play that shows his confidence and intent.
  20. The commentators on the Southampton game were awful. Noshing Southampton off all first half like they were steamrollering us and we we hanging on. They didn't have a shot on target as far as I can remember.
  21. Sometimes brands use blank/unmarked boots when testing a new model. Could be that? They look like a Nike boot at least. I would guess that Nike have cottoned on the the fact Jack is a marketing dream and are working more closely with him now.
  22. He is sensational. I was a bit surprised that he bought a foul when Romeu nudged him. Normally he just cleans it all up without any fuss. He's such a dominate beast in the box.

    Matty Cash

I really like him. Great addition. He can be a bit Neil Taylor-y at times though and turn out to play it back to a CB instead of driving forward. Bit of a shame as his delivery is very good when we've seen him put the ball into the box.

Noticed that too. He said "**** off. What you on about?! **** off" It was after a ball into his channel that be closed down at put out for a corner. My guess would be Konsa or Mings for calling him out on something to do with that.
  25. Here's a couple of rugby facts... Originally, tries didn't score any points, crossing the touchline just meant you could 'try' and kick a goal for a point. There were originally two types of football; rugby football and association football. Rugby football was shortened to 'rugger' and assoc. football was shortened to...socc-er.
