  1. Would you like to try our new Vegan kebab, Sir?
  2. Sepp Blatter tried this too when he was making moves in the nineties. He's suggested the width should be made two ball-widths wider and one ball width higher. A massive ball bag, in more ways than one.
  3. There were ITK rumours of a 'Number 8' from the continent during our Summer window. I wonder if Sanson is the someone who we were working on during the Summer and we just finished the deal off this time now that his price was lower and we look a different sales pitch.
  4. Most I can find is that square posts were outlawed in 1987. Pretty much everyone used circular posts (or rather elliptical) except the Scots who insisted on square ones. A Euro final at Hampden park caused controversy when two shots hit the post that would have gone in if they were rounded...so they were banned everywhere. Here's a link if you're interested: https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/weird-and-wonderful-history-goal-posts
  5. Each posts us the same width as the goal line to make the assistants job easier in goal lone decisions. They used to sometimes be square instead of cylindrical - I guess that was for the effect the corner of the post would have on rebounds. Originally the cross bar was made of rope. That's about all the goal frame knowledge I have.
  6. He does do these weird half-volley smashes to our keeper back from the half way line. I think Zaha got in after one of them and he did one in the first couple of mins against Newcastle. Absolutely scares the bejesus out of me.
  7. You're right, but he did enough to keep a newbie out of the team on merit.
  8. Meh. It can happen. We've done it to numerous clubs in the recent revamp of the academy so cannot grumble if it happens to us occasionally. Always better to keep hot prospects if you can but some will always slip through.
  9. Did he take a while? At the start of the season, Trez was sizzling, so he had to wait. Then he got injured. Were still only 20 odd matches into the season and considering he's had, let's say 7 good games, I think you could say he has settled quite quickly. (Not singling you out MrBlack, I initially agreed with that statement before I thought about it a bit more)
  10. I have a feeling the fact we have one of the biggest, oldest stadiums, outside of a main city must have an impact. Out infrastructures are from a time when no one gave a flying compostable cup about this sort of thing. The new stadiums must go through a lot more regulations that help them in this area. Woud be nice to be at the front of this list but would take a lot to get there.

    Ezri Konsa

I'll readily admit that I didn't known much about Konsa when we signed him. Which gives me great hope that there's others in the Championship we can similarly pick up and have an impact like him and Cash.
  12. Happy to accept parts of this, sure. Someone else was needed after Di Matteo. I was never keen on Bruce but he did alright to level us out. I think he will feel annoyed and a bit bitter at what Villa have become without him...he wouldn't namecheck us or mention our signing power as much if not. He was close to having us up and 'succeeding' but if he had, I imagine we'd be talking a lot like the Newcastle fans now.
  13. He must be absolutely spitting feathers when he looks at what we're doing now. Probably embarrassed and bitter about it as well. Lovely stuff.
  14. Easy to whinge about poor ones but I thought the ref was good last night. Probably because Newcastle didn't compete enough to make it difficult to manage. I didn't recognise him; looked like a new recruit.
  15. Most worrying for the fans is that in Bruce's post-match interview he said there were lots of positives to build on. Gulp.

    Wolves

And if their brother wasn't also their dad they wouldnt be Wolves fans.
  17. Love him. I appreciate Trez's efforts, but Traore is in a different class.

    Ezri Konsa

ALWAYS in the right place. Absolute Rolls-Royce. Seems easy for him. So expect Keane and Maguire with Dier and Gomez named for the Euros.
  19. I think he'll be secretly livid that his bezzie mate 'Madders' is scoring in good form and he's in a quiet spot. It'll be all over their WhatsApp group I bet. Plus, I think he hasn't been at his peak recently (like 8/10 instead of 9.5/10) and is annoyed at himself a little. Good decision to give him and Barkley a (small) rest. Especially with the yellow card suspension hanging over him and with him and a nibble at Shelvey.
  20. He played really well. A great game. But my god he made me jittery when he was taking those short passes off Martinez with a Newcastle player up his ass. He dealt with them well though. Credit where it's due!
  21. Ah, just checked. Looks like they have an option for £25m but isn't compulsory. Interesting that Italians are taking some English CBs over.
  22. I wonder if Tomori may be a good signing to sniff around in the Summer. Just seen he's gone to AC on loan. Barkley means we couldn't have got him now but a good player to have instead of Engels.
  23. I like how he takes the ball and turns in one movement and then just **** blasts off towards the goal. He's so quick in some of the clips. He'll probably get caught in possession a lot when doing that but when it comes off the breakaways will great to watch. Imagine him and McGinn ass-turning their way around challenges all match. There'll be more inappropriate bumping and grinding than a night in Snobs.
  24. I thought £14m was far too much money to pay for Targett for the majority of last season. He's always been good with the ball but came across as a bit of a wetter who didn't back himself in one v ones or who didn't want to set high ambitions for himself in terms of gym work etc. This season he's making £14m look like a snip. Having a really good season.
