  1. Regardless of the exact valuations, it just shows what a great job NSWE, Purslow, etc have done. For all the money they've spent, if they were to sell up or do a Lerner tomorrow they would make a profit. Oh, and we also have 5,6 of the best under 18s in the country.
  2. Apologies if mentioned elsewhere. A couple of Independant sources have now stated they believe Grealish is saying. Collymore (cryptically) send a photo of Jack signing a contract after spending the match with Jack's dad and encouraged to "ask the question". Ashley Preece (Birmingham mail) said on the live stream yesterday sources around Jack say he's staying. Southgate being blind has helped us here. If he started every game I genuinely believe he'd be player of the tournament. With his injury and questions over this summer it's highly unlikely anyone will spend 100mill.
  3. They're 1.3 billion in debt. I hope every single one of us is richer than Barca.
  4. Imagine playing with the best player in the world and Lionel Messi at villa
  5. https://www.sportbible.com/news/football-shocking-report-reveals-barcelonas-wages-amid-financial-crisis-20210706 Some leaked salaries. Griezmann 880k a week!!! De Jong 400k!! What an absolute mess of a football club
  6. Wigan away in the championship. Was an awful day, in winter, awful journey, lost 3:0 and completely played off the park. Genuinely thought we would be irrelevant for many seasons after thst game. Was so dejected after,
  7. On the Price of Football podcast, they were saying Messi's new contract will be deferred over 10-15 years!
  8. I managed to get in the portal about 20 mins ago. But it would only let me buy 1 ticket so I didn't bother.
  9. Leicester do the same thing at a higher level. Maguire, chillwell, Kante, drinkwater (which was basically theft) all sold. Younger replacements. If you have the correct recruitment team it's the only way to go unless you can suddenly jump to man u, Liverpool levels of revenue. Or bank rolled endlessly.
  10. In his pomp he made Barca 25-30 percent of their entire revenue. Was a few studies a while back the Barca actually made a profit out of him. As he grows older, less influential and new superstars like mbappe, haaland that is diminishing.
  11. They thought the Superleague was coming. The also make a lot from match day stadium tours etc which has been closed for Covid. Superleague was the get out clause.
  12. Tactics vs Italy will be the same as Germany. Shut down the wide players, force them to go direct which the CBs can handle. Spain will attempt to pass us to death, just depends if can stay switched on. Denmark will be a very tough game imo. They won't be bullied and have good players throughout the team.
  13. Their problem 2 years ago was conceding a ridiculous amount of goals. They was averaging nearly 3 a game at one point. Think the only CB they've signed is Ben Gibson from Burnley. Gillmour is obviously a talent after Scotland pulsating 0:0 victory over England, but he is unproven in a full PL season. They'll go straight back down imo. Raschica put himself in the shop window with a relegation release clause.
  14. I think, without wishing to go down a rabbit hole. Barca are so poorly run they spend 120% of turnover on wages. Therefore by La Liga rules, they are only allowed to reinvest 25 percent of money saved / raised until their finances are brought into line. Therefore to spend 50 on the contracts of Aguero, Depay etc they need to raise / save 200. Or they are 200 over the line, not sure which. No doubt La liga (who need Barca for South American and Asian TV deals) will drop their version of FFP this year allowing them to register the players. It's cliche but Barca is more than a football club. They represent Catalonia against the might of Spain / Madrid. They'll get funding from banks to cover the 1.3 billion in debt. However with an aging squad and their biggest commercial asset will retire shortly I expect it will be a long time until they are competitive in the CL.
  15. Talk online that Barca need to lower their wage bill by 200million to register new players. Explains why pjanic, umtiti have been told the pack their bags. And why Wolves got Trincao for peanuts.

    Wolves

Mendes players will leave, then be replaced by Mendes players. Mendes makes money from both which is flushed through Chinese Bank accounts.
  17. Bit random, But Dembele at Spurs for me, was one of the best all round midfielders I've seen for a few seasons. Strong , quick, never gave the ball away, great at pushing his team upfield. Equally adept at beating a man and tackling.
  18. When a fan looks down he sees the badge looking straight back up at him
  19. You raise a great point. If they signed a world class elite DM, it's not only that players value, but a world class Pogba would emerge. I remember when he first signed for United he was awful. France played England at Wembley and he looked every inch the best midfielder I'd seen. Same as at points in the world Cup and Euros. Their front 3 is sorted for the next 10 years Rashford, greenwood and Sancho. Sort the midfield out. Varane partnering Maguire with 2 good young full backs. For all the mocking they will have a seriously good team.
  20. Pogba only looks decent when he has an elite midfielder behind him, maybe 2.
  21. We had a weird scenario. Daughters school shut 3 classes for 10 days because "a member of staff tested positive". We all got tested to be safe, my daughter was negative, my wife was positive. Double jabbed, absolutely no symptoms at all. Self isolated for 10 days On day 10, the wife is negative and I'm positive. Another 10 days sitting at home. Both my kids 3 and 8 will have been stuck inside for 21 days.
  22. Arsenal are the same every year. Around season ticket renewal time they are linked with great players which rarely come off (last I can think is Ozil). Then they end up overpaying for average talent from the French league. Arsenal are ran on a balance sheet, not by the owner. There's probably a lot of red on that sheet after no CL and Covid. If he digs his heel in over the contract, they'd accept 40-50 upfront for him as it solves a lot of problems and saves him leaving for free next season.
  23. Can we change this thread title to "Let's all laugh at West Brom"?
