  1. Yep. Or they'd have to pay Wilder the remainder if his contract which he may forfeit by taking another job.
  2. From our first season back in the PL, we know it's not just a simple case of signing players. They take time to adjust, settle and form a cohesive team. Zaha is moaning he wants to go (as usual), Eze is out. Regardless of the manager, I make Palace firm favourites to go down.
  3. He was our best player, in DM after the first lockdown imo. He can't just be a bad player all of a sudden. I am hoping his poor form might be due to fatigue. He's a young guy as well don't forget, being forcibly kept away from family / support network must have been tough. With all of the above in mind I think he deserves a chance at DM to see what he can do.
  4. Interest (manufactured or real) + Good euros = New contract, More money for said agent. Agent will feel Jacks loyalty means he's getting shafted out of at least 4/5 windfalls of a few million each.

    The NSWE Board

Again, keep saying. These guys are absolutely loaded but incredibly intelligent. If they sold a few players and the club tomorrow they'd make money.
  6. 5/7 players ahead of Watkins in the goal scoring charts take penalties. Add to that the 2 absolutely ridiculous goals taken away from him.
  7. 8th would be good. 5,6 would be spectacular.
  8. Just a quick note on Grealish and his new superstar status, marketing potential and overall club growth. Noticed in away games (before lockdown) Burnley and Brighton away there were home kids with cards asking for his shirt. I live in Leicester, I was in nearby Wigston yesterday evening in a local park. The kids were pretending to be Grealish, not Vardy or Maddison. Im occasionally charitable and have a friend in our friendship group who is a massive blues fan, SOTV and all that. His kid (9) wants a Grealish England kit. The guys a superstar, and if we can keep hold of him he will do more to grow the clubs visibility than any player we've had before.
  9. Wood, Tammy etc will never happen because neither player will come to us to sit on the bench. We have Watkins, who scores plenty, barely gets injured and perfectly suits our style of play. If not, we have a 25 million pound Brazil International to prove himself fit in pre season.
  10. Yep. Despite the Bellingham money (a one off), they were still that desperate to raise just £10m, what happens when they run out of cash again?
  11. Wolves were a mid table nothing championship team. Mendes managed to get them the likes of Neves, Boly, Jota to get them out championship, an enticing opportunity. If you offered wolves fans that ultimatum 4 years ago they'd accept. Fosun are an investment portfolio. They could not care less about the club or the players. As a result they will now break even, by selling a Mendes player for huge money each season and buy a young Mendes player for Premier league exposure (whilst he lines his pockets) . The clubs value will grow thus proving a ROI for their investors. Although our owners are fantastic, they aren't just going to spend 1b on players, and are already pouring finances into the youth system to make us sustainable. We will probably start doing the same but at a much higher level. Sell a star player occasionally if a crazy offer comes in, supplement with youth players and excellent recruitment.
  12. As much as there's banter, I genuinely hope it was a way to get cash into the club and nothing more sinister. But the business that owns the ground now has no affiliation to the current owners. There's nothing in 10 years stopping them turning it into flats.
  13. Mentioned on the Wolves thread. Benfica, Sporting etc all wanted the transfer investigating. He was worth nowhere near that. Porto were in covid financial trouble. Mendes got Silva signed for a grossly inflated fee (and pocketed about 6 million as well). Thats the wrong side of having an agent involved in transfers.
  14. Confirmed to the Hong Kong stock exchange their stadium is sold to a completely separate entity. Sold for 10.78 million rent 1.25 million over 10 years. In short they’ve given their stadium away. Their short term cash flow must be critical. Birmingham mail
  15. I could imagine him doing "the worm" up to the ball and heading it in.
  16. CAM: Ramsey, Carney RW: Bidace Absolutely no point in our youth academy if these kids aren't given a chance.
  17. Awful for Watkins but works in our favour. After a condensed season and the Euros immediately after, having a fully rested Watkins can only be a good thing for us next season. OT but I worry how many games Jack will play next year.
  18. Sheffield Weds went for it with Bruce and an expensive team the season we went up. Same as Derby with an expensive team and 3 premier league loanees. Tony Xia did exactly the same thing, literally mortgaged the lot to try and get up. We are so so fortunate NSWE came in to save us, otherwise would be where they are now.

    Wolves

Good move for them. Clearly the owners are now on a sustainability mission. With Mendes they'll steal all the best young Portuguese talent, develop in the PL and inevitably sell to a "top 6" club.
  20. Unless we win it Southgate will get slaughtered regardless. Captain hindsights will come out.. If he plays Grealish and we lose he will get battered for not playing Foden, Sancho etc. If he plays walker, he will get battered for not picking James.
  21. With the amount of free kicks jack wins, JWP would be in double figures just on free kick goals. it's a massive stretch. He's "one of their own" and will see us as their competition for "best of the rest". As with VVD they'd hold us for at least 60m. Just not going to happen imo.
  22. Surely the chances of surviving are better with Buendia than without. The 40 million they receive is nothing compared the PL status. I genuinely cant fathom why they're selling him.
  23. Impossible. Every small heath fan lives within a 2.3 mile radius of New Street.
  24. It shows that these talents are being produced in and around the Birmingham area. With rh our schools link up, inner city academy, actual route to the first team, hopefully we can be the team that brings these kids though.
  25. I read it was just a straight choice. Both enacted the clause and could offer the wages. At that point Newcastle looked a more stable proposition than us. They were mid table, we barely survived.
