  1. Anyone notice Phil Dowd has learned that when a player is through on goal and gets brought down it's a red card (Kaboul). Just a few years too late!
  2. I've played in a few different lower leagues in my time and the South Devon league was by far the worst for idiots and I am not surprised in the least by this. I had threats of broken legs and allsorts playing in that league that I never received elsewhere. Admittedly I assumed it was all intimidation but judging by this some assclown decided that it would be a good idea to go through with the threats, sad sad situation. Here's hoping Di Canio is happy for the example he has set
  3. Pah that TBA always gets beat, can't think of a time he's ever won a fight to be honest
  4. All the best NV, I visited Toronto on honeymoon and thought Canada was a lovely country.
  5. To the people getting married in the near future enjoy it. I got married 5 weeks ago and it's been awesome. Amazing party with all my friends and family, 2 week holiday, loads of gifts to replace a lot of old home stuff which was pretty much knackered. Nothing has changed between my wife and I, only difference is we get asked when are you going to have kids instead of when are you getting married/are you all set for the wedding. We tell them we are going to the rugby world cup in England next year and will consider kids beyond and then everything carries on as normal. Certainly not the big deal people make it out to be and the day itself was best day of my life. I'm hope all the VTers getting married soon will find it the same
  6. Baddiel said they weren't likely to as Frank hates England being such a disappointment, although he did say that he expected Frank to change his mind once the hullaballo started and have to fly out for the knock out stages
  7. 1990 for me as well. Scotland, Ireland and England all at the tournament. Its bizarre that I remember a lot of Union jacks at the tournament but you never see that nowadays. The agony of going out was pure heartbreak. In reality Shilton got nowhere near any of those penalties! The thing I will also never forget is the sheer hypocrisy of the press telling England not to bother going because they were so crap and saying Robson should be sacked and then completely changing their opinion to say how they were heroes. Quite how Bobby Robson dealt with the media like a true gent I will never know.
  8. Appears Spurs have approached De Boer about being manager next season, surely this leaves Sherwood's position as untenable, wonder if hell go to Norwich or maybe he is too big time for them given he is the best Spurs manager ever according to Tim Sherwood
  9. Just back from 4 days in Toronto, followed by 4 in DC, followed by 4 in NYC for my honeymoon. 1 evening of showers in NYC but other than that not a drop of rain and the most amazing time seeing all the touristy things (I like them so sue me!) Will probably try and get away in Europe in mid to late September, 2 years ago did Sorrento at that time of year and was perfect as just wanted to chill out. will listen to people's recommendations on here as they return from summer and see if any take my fancy
  10. Getting married, just over 100 guests for day, about same again for reception, no biggie.
  11. A mate who I used to live with order some football socks from Sports Direct, they also sent him said large free mug as a result the parcel wouldn't go through the letterbox so he had to pick it up from the depot, boy was he pissed off, but it cheered me up laughing at him no end
  12. How would i know if i have specifically? I'm guessing as I'm not famous: In your interactions/mentions on twitter have you got anyone giving you unnecessary abuse.?
  13. So Jones you've been papped but have you been trolled? If yes please post them on here so we can all laugh at the losers of society
  14. For the record Jones is currently 33/1 to win Sports Personality of the Year with William Hill (Joint 11th favourite)
  15. Congrats Jenny On the commentary on your event the commentators said you might go for the 'something 9' on the final jump. As a matter of interest why did you choose not to go for the something 9? Would it have won the gold? Is it a risky move? Apologies for the novicesque questions RE the event
  16. Someone from the forum is on the telly again lol
  17. Mentioned regarding Eunan O'Kane Link Personally don't see it happening and sense we were picked out of a hat of mid-table sides who the paper could make a story out of
  18. The official in charge of Sheff Wed v Man U decides to play an accurate amount of time and Man Utd lose 1-0
  19. Luc Nilis, unfortunately the crowd only got to see it once but if you look at the finishes at PSV you know he was simply awesome
  20. 28/1 Milner for first goal is appealing
  21. Best - Platt - £200k outlay, return of £5.5m on the transfer and 50 goals inbetween Worst - Balaban - why spend 6m on a striker you will never play (can't help but feel a brown envelope was involved somewhere)
  22. Great news. If there is one thing the game needs more of it is money [/sarcasm]
  23. You have to go back to the 03/04 season for Spurs aggregate net spend to be in excess of Liverpool's in the past 3 seasons. I don't like Spurs but the squad they have built in the past 10 years is better than Liverpool's as proven by the finishing positions in recent seasons. I just don't understand why people do not want to recognise the levels of spending that have gone at Liverpool which are clearly higher than those that they compete with to finish in the Top 4
