  1. I couldn't give a shit about the style of football it's a results business and Houllier isn't delivering in the same way that MON did. Would I rather have Arsenal's last 5 years of trophyless pretty football or Man Utd's where they picked up the European Cup. Well it's the latter. If your viewpoint is different then fine just don't call me a grandad because I'm ertainly not!
  2. Great news for the world of boxing When will this guy reaise he's an amateur boxer and as a professional he isn't good enough to win the world title
  3. Will be buying tickets for the Sunday at MK. Biffy & JEW are supporting so the line up will just about be worth the ticket price
  4. Unusual as Villa held onto Barry for a season in a similar situation and still sold him for a large fee, suggests there was more than one option but Levy took the selling one. Paper talk similar to Rooney to Spurs, because neither of these 'dossiers' have ever been seen? Absolute drivel. The Keane thing went on past his actual sale so the whole statement is rubbish Just admit that when the big 4 (thats Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd as in the top 4 sides in the league) come knocking, Spurs will sell. History supports this point of view. The same as villa will sell, the same as the other 86 sides in the league will sell. Welcome to football in the Premier League which has ruined the game
  5. You gotta feel for poor Coleen. When she heard Wayne Rooney had paid for a 19 year old escort she asked if it was taxed and had an MOT
  6. 5-3 win, Sidwell with all 8!
  7. Would appear my saying you can have the credit for the article has stuck Bri :-) Thanks for telling me what I can and can't do & When MON played a reserve side in the Europa league and got knocked out people went a little nuts, in addition in our cup exits to Leicester and QPR were criticised. So he was damned if he did and damned if he didn't. Furthermore I enjoyed the day at Wembley and there is no conclusive evidence that we would have finished 4th without the final that day in addition had it not been for the guy with a serious lack of bottle in the middle we'd have a trophy in the cabinet. This I agree with based on the fact we don't have the money to spend to overtake city. I always wonder IF someone had pulled a red card at Wembley how much of the vitrole aimed at Martin wouldn't exist as we'd have a trophy in the cabint. It's a mighty big word is if and if you are suggesting this is a knee jerk reaction you'd be wrong!
  8. But due to my general anonymity on this site I'll let you take the credit Bri
  9. Whats the betting that hundred of hacks from the media are reading this thread. To them I say write something good and substantiated about our club instead of your usual piss poor pick a name out of a hat journalism!
  10. Do you see more than 1 new face (besides Ireland) being signed as I just cannot see time permitting it even if we appointed a new manager tomorrow!
  11. My only complaint: O'Neill! He was manager here for four years and you can't spell his sodding name (although I sense many on these boards wouldn't care as he is history) Aside from that I thought it was a reasonably balanced argument but fundamentally flawed by the fact that every football fan wants success. Sadly no matter how poorly done it would appear that Man Citeh will achieve that, however if they don't and we do, it will make it very very sweet to see certain ex player(s) faces
  12. I think Randy can afford to take his time and not rush and make a poor appointment as Kevin Mac appears to have done a great job today.
  13. You can also add to that the fact that only 1 of them has played in the premiership while the other 3 are moving from abroad
  14. Barry will start is the news. I'd go with James Johnson Cole A. Terry Upson Lennon Gerrard Barry Cole J. Heskey Rooney
  15. I'd say it's always been his level but that is just a matter of opinion. I'll enjoy goal of the month more now he is back but I still think he'll go missing for large parts of the game against top 8 sides
  16. England to win it with 9 points and The Sun and a lot of morons to get very excited very quickly about our prospects
  17. Have to agree a line up of Guzan Bouma Young L. Cuellar Clark Albrighton Downing NRC Milner Delf Carew Would be nice. Also involvement for Sidwell at some point. Let the fringe players know their efforts are appreciated, having said that there is potentially 750k on th line for each premiership place so Randy & MON may have other ideas
  18. Wins against 3 of the Sky 4 this season, mean nothing. We are the only side to have stopped Man Utd scoring at Old Trafford this season. I'll no doubt be accused of saying MON is perfect which he isn't nor have I actually said, to throw statements like this out there which are just wrong is pathetic
  19. I think wre it for a matter of inches we'd be celebrating tonight, Downing's rasping shot just wide at 1-0 and Carew hitting the bar at 1-1. Just wasn't to be and in the end the money spent on world class players by citeh told. What we spent on our whole defence they spent on 1 defender. And despite that, the stats show our defence to have been the better of the two. Well done to the lads for the season and lets sign off with a win at home to Blackburn and a 67 points tally
  20. Massive game, our record up there isn't good by any stretch of the imagination. A point isn't enough so we've gotta go for it. I reckon this team is a stronger unit than we've had in quite some time so I refuse to back against us. 9 points obtained from the target set with 5 games to go, fingers crossed we can make it 12 today with 3 to get at Blackburn. Up The Villa!
  21. Lose-lose situation for MON with a win expected and any other result not acceptable to some. Fingers crossed we can go to 9 points in the bag and 6 to get
  22. 6 down, 9 to get, keep working the magic MON, we're still in with a shot. Lets see where we end up!
  23. They will be straightforward, outlining we have won the game (which he probably needs to do to remind some people, given the general mood on here), could've had a few penalties and how we are looking to win the next 4 games. Can't see what you are dreading there
  24. An away win and 12 points left to get this season. Performance quality doesn't matter, results do, keep on getting them from here on out and see where we end up
