  1. Bigjim, who said Boa Morte outshone Robben at the weekend, this was probably because Robben is only half fit at present and also didn't play the whole game despite this he managed to produce an outrageous nutmeg and set up Lampard's goal! Hardly think your comparison is fair nor does it hold any weight with regards reasons to buy him! God help you if your even suggesting that Boa Morte is a better buy than Robben!
  2. Interest point Hanky although Crouch's record wasn't exactly prolific for villa before he went to Southampton, not by any means abdecating that we buy Stead just making a counter point to the idea that just because a striker doesn't work in one team doesn't mean the same will happen for another, Beattie not scoring freely at Everton being another example. Each case should be judged on its merits and Stead's isn't as clean cut as you suggest
  3. Saw Leroy Lita hit a hat-trick against Torquay earlier this season, his finishing was immaculate that day and he's a cocky git to go with it, just enough to wind even the most placcid Torquay fan up. Its questionable whether we should take a punt though in that we have Luke Moore coming through. Ultimately I think DOL is looking for a big man (hence Carlton Cole this year and the link with Beattie) for when Juan is out of form (as he has been this year) or injured (which he also has beent his year) Lita doesn't really fill this mould as he's more of a movement player like Owen (although in fairness Lita did win a fair share of headers in the Torquay game, but the yellows back 4 is crap!) If Vassell was to be sold then Lita would definitely be amongst the names I'd like to see linked but in terms of a stand-in for Angel then I don't think hes the man for the job.
  4. I want Earnshaw as when Vassell was out we had no ideas up front whatsoever, he could work just as well with Angel as Vass does IMO. Alhtough do agree that something different such as Smith is a nice possibility just don't know if he'd work too well with Juan and lets face it having a striker whom didn't work with Juan has been the reason that the strikeforce has failed to fire this year!
  5. Hav read it b23avfc and don't see how this is an overreaction, its merely a question of who villa fans would like to see take the next penalty. Unless your talking about the board struggling and thats why I couldn't add the other option?!
  6. Sorry did try and do an other option but doesn't seem to have put it up
  7. Who's taking the next one (if we get one!)
  8. What is bizaare is exactly the same poll is running on H&V (i popped in there cos im that desperate for a transfer rumour about now!) and the vote is stacked entirely the opposite way with Postma having 65% of the vote. You can say that maybe they know less etc but it would suggest that the villa fans on average are split over the goalie at present!
  9. It is apparent our number 1 has come in for some criticism, with a goalkeeper seemingly not a priority for DOL in the transfer window, that leaves the options of keepers in the squad so who do you want in goal next match?
