I'm going to Australia in December, my gf's grandma has paid for 7 of us to go and stay in a cottage in Apollo Bay just south of Melbourne for 2 weeks. Really looking forward to it, except I'll be missing the traditional Christmas dinner which is kind of shit.

To confirm, ST holders don't have to do anything to "claim" a free ticket do they? Me and my Dad will be going to see this, but looking on the OS it just says that the cards will be activated, nothing about claiming your ticket.

Quick question on the Career mode, when you see that a player has 1 year left on his contract, are you able to get them on the cheap or do they have to have less than a year left on the contract? If they have to have less than a year, is there an easy way of finding them? I can never seem to get a bargain, always have to pay the asking price or more.

Same here, Drennan and Grealish seem to be the stand out players. Drennan is/was (I saw after the Ajax v Villa game) top goal scorer in the Next Gen tournament with 6 goals. Looking forward to this tie, I've no idea about Olympiacos or Anderlechts youth teams but I'd like to think we've got a good chance of progressing to the next round. Definitely getting down VP for this.

Anyone know how the next round works for this? Hope it's at home.

Didn't Milner end up putting in a transfer request? You can't keep a player who doesn't want to stay. I wasn't aware of that. If so then there's not much you can complain about. I hear about how Spurs put up a fight, yet they still lost players like Carrick, Berbatov, Keane, etc. If players want to leave as you say there's not much you can do. Don't forget Modric. I agree completely, players hold majority of the power now and the contracts are barely worth the paper they're written on. Unless things change dramatically it's going to be very difficult for teams to compete with the likes of Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea.

I've noticed that we are slow at taking the throw in, not looking for the quick pass when no one is marked but I also noticed that we are very slow and loose when defending an opposition throw in. It's so frustrating that we make it so easy for the opposition to keep possession from these. Pure laziness IMO.

Been doing well in the transfer market on my Career mode recently, bought Wellington Nem for £10m then sell him the season after for £25m, bought Wilfried Bony for £9m and then sell him the season after for £20m! So I've bought a couple of young Brazilians Willian Jose and Ribeiro Cardoso (don't know if he exists in real life or is from the youth setup thing) and hoping to make a killing of these two next season.

I loved FUT 12 but FUT 13 is different for me, I can't get used to it and seem to get beat all the time. Maybe it's because of the league format so you are guaranteed to play good players when you are in Div 1 unlike last year where you are mixed in with some numpties. So now I just play Seasons and Career mode. Plus the novelty of opening packs has worn off for me now, which was the best thing about it for me.

It's quite obvious that Lerner doesn't have the same ambition or means to support said ambition that he used to when he first bought the club. So either we settle for being in a relegation scrap or worse every season or he sells up to someone who can support us financially. I'd go with Lerner out.

I'm in a similar sort of situation, although I have a house with a garden, live 5 minutes from work and only work 9 - 5:15. We are looking at getting a Beagle but I am a bit concerned that it might be left on it's own for too long, I could drive home at lunch and sit with it for half an hour or so but it might still be a bit unfair on it. Saying that though my Mum and Dad have 2 dalmations and they're at home pretty much Monday - Friday, 9 til 4 and they don't seem to have any problems with that. Maybe I need to reconsider and wait until I'm older

To be honest I'd take his Wigan form and goals/assists right now, it was good enough to keep them up pretty much single handedly so it'd be good enough for me. I rate him alot more than Ireland though who is probably the only other player we can use in that position. They may both be shit overall but you work with what you've got available. Everytime Ireland plays I think he looks lazy, wasteful and just generally a waste of a shirt.
