  1. Got this based on the VT hype. It's incredible and I can't normally play RPG's. It's Fable multiplied by 1000. I did stumble upon a side quest last night by accident just wandering about. When it came to fighting the boss I couldn't touch it. No attack was doing any damage. An hour later I give up thinking it must have glitched and reload an earlier save. Look up the quest again 'suggested level 34'. Whoops! I've spent hours just looking for treasure and looting. Amazing.
  2. I've enjoyed this season as I've enjoyed all of them. You could easily make a seasons worth of television for each of the main story strands. When it's an hours worth of TV they've got to cram in as much as possible and some story lines suffer more than others.
  3. I think Vlaar has been a real bargain. 3.5m? 25k a week? Great business. Worthy of a new deal imo despite him rightly taking pelters for some poor form atm.

    Liverpool

It would be tough between Scholes and Gerrard, but Scholes for me.

    Liverpool

Agree 100% re the Milner Pirlo. It's just a comment about about Gerrard being more on an all rounder than Scholes and Lampard. Scholes was a much more special player. But on that argument Zatman, Scholes wasn't a great defender and ditto Lampard.
  6. Any one cracked beating the AI yet? I can tear professional a new one but really struggle on World Class.

    Liverpool

The old pointless saying but I'm saying it. You'd take 11 Gerrard's over 11 Lampard's. Also you'd take 11 Gerrard's over 11 Scholes's. Personality wise perhaps not Mr Model Citizen, but a great player. If he'd been Villa for his whole career I'm sure we'd see it differently.
  8. Paul's comments are being made to look silly by the teams form since Tim came in. No one expected 6th or 7th but the form since he departed could see us challenging for those spots. And with the same set of players, i.e not having to spend any more money. I don't think he ever recovered from losing his wing men, Culverhouse and Karsa, because having a good team around you is important. The job he did Norwich was superb and a team effort talking to Norwich fans. He was sacked far too late but luckily, and i'll keep my fingers crossed, just in time. A lot of people wanted it to work out for Paul, it didn't. But now stop making excuses about injuries and finances because your whole tenure was dogged by you not being able to get the team scoring goals and winning games. Also trying to justify not using Grealish more and taking credit for 'we gave him his debut'.

    GTA 5

This game is tremendous online! Have your guys skill stats just increased over time?
  10. After cutting my teeth for 3 years in the doldrums of English football I was offered the Villa job, Finished 5th, 3rd and 2nd but won the Champions League too. Fittingly it was v Bayern. Losing 2-0 at half time and won it in the 88th minute, Football Manager can be amazing at times!
  11. Yeah - Id drop one of the wide players and stick Bacuna in there - your suggestion for Gil is interesting though. I think we need Gil to be as far up the pitch as possible to hurt teams. He gets through a lot of work though and having to concentrate on tracking back every time the opposition comes forward seems like a waste of what he's good at.
  12. Well we beat Leicester ! Other than that - I don't see anything to suggest there are 3 teams worse than us....... Agreed. Deep down I feel this year is the year for us. The goal famine has killed us. Still, plenty of winnable games to come if you can bring yourself to ignore the fact that we've won 5 all season.
  13. I think TS needs to play Gil behind Benteke and free him of some of the defensive responsibility that comes with being on the wing. Put Bacuna on the right wing because he's stronger, a more natural ball winner and naturally right footed. 4-4-1-1 please Tim.
  14. There is a valid point to be made about removing a manager with 10 years management experience. 3 years in the premier league with 2 clubs and never relegated. and replacing him with a manager with 4 months experience and no UEFA pro licence. Not saying It necessarily bothers me much at this point, The King is dead, long live the King!! but I can understand why some people have misgivings. It is a MASSIVE gamble. but one the majority on here would agree needed to happen. As Pacbuddies said yesterday, if hes the RIGHT man experience counts for little. but only time will tell....... Careful, that's bordering on sensible! Tactics are important, but imo so over talked about/analysed. Fergie was quite a successful manager and I wouldn't say he had a preferred 'tactic'. It's about 11 players v 11 players and the manager needs to fire them up. Tim Sherwood will do that.
  15. Paul Lambert desperately needs some help, but his stubbornness is driving us towards relegation. Norwich fans said it was Culverhouse that did the setting up of the team, not Lambert. Though he should be sacked, he won't be. The next best thing is getting in some one experienced next to him on the bench. That being said, I don't think Lambert likes hearing the truth. Part of the reason Keane went imo.
  16. I follow the guy on twitter. He's not the sort to bs. He's watched the interview on AVTV and posted a few screen shots.
  17. I do hope so! It would make financial sense.
  18. I'd like to see the wages, but 2M to make the deal permanent seems a really clever bit of business from Lambert. Sinclair wide left and Gil wide right both able to cut in. It's almost exciting... He has a contract until 2016 and you'd think he'd be on over 40k a week.I doubt he'll be taking a pay cut below 40k. 3 year deal after the initial loan? Wages wise it's risky if he does an N'Zogbia, but he looked a real talent for Swansea. WBA fans didn't think much mind.
  19. The club has got to be self sustainable now? N'Zogbia, Bent and Given adding 175k a week to the wage bill isn't helping. I'm not sure how much Derby are covering. Not a fat lot! Clear those 3 off the wage bill and you are looking at what we've spent on transfer fees and wages this summer, plus 9m. Plus the extra TV revenue. There will be no excuse for not investing more heavily in the squad over the next few seasons. In fairness to Lambert, he's built a very decent looking squad on paper. It makes the results even more frustrating! If we were comfortably mid table and beating teams we should be beating, the whole place would be a lot more up beat. It's not a surprise Lerner is fed up either, the figure spent on wages (and still being spent) under O'Neil, Houlier and Mcleish is eye watering. What is the most Lambert has paid a new signing? 30k?
  20. Why does Lambert hate wingers? And why can't Lambert see that Hutton and Cissokho, as competent as they are, aren't providing the attacking quality, namely neither of them provide decent enough crosses or get close enough to the byline? On the other hand the few times Grealish has put some suberb balls into the box, no one has gambled and Benteke has pulled to the edge of the box. He definitely hates wing play.
  21. We've been a lot more adventurous going forward, it reminds me of the strong run at the end of Lambert's first season. One thing that I can't get my head around is the way we deal with opposing wide men. Lambert seems to like to play 1 v 1 with there wide man which means our fullbacks tends to be sitting ducks sometimes. The way the opposition used to stop Ashley Young for us was to double up on him. We just don't seem to do it. It's as if Lambert is happy for the cross to come in and to deal with it.
