  1. Chelsea misfiring and struggling for from? It may not be the Villa of old but it is still Villa! I’ve got my fingers crossed but we know how this usually goes down…
  2. Many fans have got us lifting this cup as if we haven’t been awful in Europe for 40 years. Hopefully a wake up call.
  3. I don’t know this to be the case but surprised at the lack of good luck instagram posts from the Villa players wishing him well, unless I’ve missed them.
  4. Unless i am missing something it looked a ridiculously soft pen, i am glad it was over turned!
  5. No option to buy is annoying but it's seldom in the parent clubs interest to include one unless they actively want to sell the player. Especially one with high potential. OGS rates him highly. £5m loan fee touted but it's sensible business for our current aspirations and injury proneness aside, is a risk free signing. Purslow said 'no more development of other clubs talents' which is nice sentiment but sometimes stubborn and impractical when there is a gap that needs filling.
  6. It is a horrible thought selling JG for £100m and having to pay £40m to get JWP.
  7. He's made a point of saying quality time with family and having a Paul Lambert style tour abroad. So i doubt he has a job lined up, what would be the point of saying it otherwise? Like him or not, he's played an important role in our recovery to this point.

    Wolves

Trincão is the positive side of being so closely linked to Jorge Mendes and the option to by is good business from Wolves. He does look terrific. It would rankle with me being such a blatant part of the food chain, and though technically everyone outside of the top 6 is, in Wolves’ position you can’t fend off interest like Palace did with Zaha for example, because that is the Mendes roulette. I would say Wolves are in a better position than Palace in terms of growth though. I think in this case Barcelona are happy to break even on the fee paid and so everyone is happy.
  9. The Footballer Insider article must have been written by a Blues fan!
  10. I'd seen the 'dark arts' article and the comments/tweets hating on him are unbelievable. Thug, cheat, liability etc I came here to ask why and you've summed it up perfectly. Thank you. Football is a faster paced game now, defenders will get caught out and make mistakes but Mings gets a harder ride than your average.
  11. His interview after the game was incredible. Full of praise for those in front of him. A natural leader, a great goalkeeper and an incredible signing. It's nice to see us being run properly with every decision being thoroughly thought out. This one in particular as it turns out, was a no brainer.
  12. Playing on an original PS4 (It's still going, God bless it). It feels like when you're playing a game on a PC just not powerful enough to handle it. 1.04 doesn't help much. It's poor when it's been released as a game capable of being played on a PS4. The free upgrade to a PS5 version makes it slightly more palatable...
  13. My lasting memory will be the ball through for Wesley's first goal for us v Everton. It was a thing of beauty. A very nice footballer but seems to lack a bit of pace and intensity.
  14. John Percy of The Telegraph has also confirmed it was on the verge of being done. He is usually more official than the OS. Click
  15. Fair shout and in fairness i do think it's going to an all or nothing thing for him. He's not going to stick around and do a Steve Morgan at Wolves.
  16. I hear you, but my point was a general one about being realistic. Chelsea aren't as big and those clubs, and look at how much Abramovic has thrown at it.
  17. This talk of being Madrid or Barcelona is making a rod for his own back. There's ambition and there's lunacy. We'll take being an established Premier League club again in 5 years Tone.
  18. It’s got to go to the Football League - they want to know what his financial situation is.” Yes Ray, it's a Fit and Proper Owners test. Amazing insight again.
  19. I believe the man in charge of Lyon is Garde's assistant. He has said that he'd we wiling to step back into an assistants role but only for Remi Garde.
  20. This group of players will never fit in with Remi's vision of how a football team should function. Even with 100% effort and application it's painful watching them move the ball about slowly and not able to turn possession into chances. We haven't got the players composed enough to move the ball quickly under pressure. Eventually we get forced into a mistake.
  21. It's a results business of that there is no doubt. But........ has he been given a fair chance with the a squad pre assembled to suit another manager with a completely different tactical set up? One thing about Remi that I like more than anything is that he doesn't seem to take any shit. He stands up for himself, the players and the fans. He isn't scared to call the board out and ask what is going on. He isn't a rabbit in the headlights out of his depth like Lambert, and he isn't a slippery chancer who likes to drop stories into the press to maintain his own image at the expense of the club like Sherwood. He's the type of bloke you want running the football side of the club and he hasn't be backed one iota. He's been let down big time.
  22. It is incredibly depressing at the moment. We need to be relegated and skip to the next transfer window. It's going to be horrible until then. Hopefully Garde will stick around to rebuild it.
