Have been saying the same thing for months!

I've recently started listening to The How Aston Villa Won... Podcast It's a bit of a walk down memory lane reflecting on some of our more successful times. The first season is all about the 81 league win, think they're doing 82 European Cup after that. It's mainly targeted at people who are too young to have enjoyed the success first time round. It's a good laugh and we'll worth a listen!

Absolutely shocking first half. The moment we come up against a decent team, we look Sunday league. Big second half needed

v Leeds, Brisbane (July 17th)
regular_john replied to Villan_of_oz's topic in Pre-Season / Friendlies
I only saw the last five minutes of the first half + the second. We looked comfortable throughout but didn't make too many chances. I really can't stand Leeds so was hoping we'd stuff them, oh well.- 430 replies

The banker loving, baby-eating Tory party thread (regenerated)

Who do we think for next PM then? Liz Truss seems the best of a bad bunch as far as I can tell. The rest of them can take a long walk off a short plank! -
Moron fetish?

Still would

What happened with Kalinic? I remember us signing him, him looking decent-ish and then he just...vanished. Was he crapper than I remember? Behind the scenes antics? Injury? He's barely made the bench in years

Always worked hard, occasional moments of real quality. Should get a warm welcome if he ever comes back to VP.

Which three former players would you sign in this window (if you could)?

Just sticking to players in my lifetime... McGrath (obviously) Barry Benteke - may be a bit of an odd pick but I reckon Coutinho and Buendia would run riot thanks to his holdup play -
Yet again the religion of peace and tolerance shows it's true colours

Sell, sell, sell. As much as I like him, he's never shown anything that makes me think he'll be a decent PL striker and, at 24, that's unlikely to change.

The RJW63 Official Jack Grealish Appreciation Thread
regular_john replied to kevangrealish's topic in Other Football
I don't get the Southgate hate (South-hate?). He got us our first semi final in 30 odd years and our first final in 50 odd. Yes, he made mistakes and should have done better in those big games, but he's still the most successful manager we've had since Alf Ramsey. And he rocks a mean waistcoat. -
Mostly rubbish. Pros: 1. Coutinho 2. Ramsey 3. Buendia 4. Chambers Cons: 1. Smith out 2. Bailey, Ings 3. Konsa has been a bit of a mixed bag 4. Watkins' finishing has been largely dire Undecided 1. Gerrard

Expecting a loss. They'll be going for it after the dropped points at Tottenham. I actually wouldn't be too heartbroken if we lost as I'd much rather see Liverpool as champions rather than Citeh. Can't stand the thought of Grealish lifting the trophy on the last day after playing us.

Yep. I don't think his moved has worked out for either party, to be honest. -
Netflix - what do we think? I'm wary of falling into the 'too big to fail' trap but there's bound to be a massive rebound, surely??

When I was a kid, I was babysat by the son of one of my mum's best friends. He was a really good kid at the time but grew into something of a rotter. And by rotter, I mean an incredibly violent criminal who was one of the four biggest cocaine distributors in Europe. Next time I saw him, he was on the front page of multiple newspapers after being arrested in an Interpol sting. I choose my own babysitters these days.

Very valid question. At the moment, it seems that they can do basically whatever they want in Ukraine and there'll be no NATO intervention. After all, they're currently starving over 100,000 people to death in Mariupol and nothing is being done. The deaths from a nuclear attack probably wouldn't be much more than that, so I suspect even use of nuclear weapons won't be enough to trigger a military response. I don't think NATO will intervene as long as the conflict does not spill into NATO territory.

I was just thinking the same thing. I know it's completely irrational and idiotic as it would result in massive loss of life, but I think the time has come for these Ruski bastards to see what real death and destruction looks like. If they **** want a war, let's give them one! (Good thing I'm not making the decisions)

500+ Russians hospitalised after being poisoned by residents of Kharkiv. Looks like a combination of booze and pies. Only 2 dead so far but that looks to rise significantly. Well done, Ukrainians!

Slipping Stevie really having an influence on the team. Wrong studs?
