  1. From the 3 games against Burnley, norwich and Brighton I felt we should aim for 7 points but really needed at least 5. Not winning against any of them with two games at home would bring a lot of pressure.
  2. I'm fairly sure they get told what to tweet by the club. Happens with all clubs not. Look out for the standard message text.
  3. I wonder how well they would play together. Using Davies to hold up the ball could get wesley into the box more.
  4. I've only watched the highlights but looked impressive last night. I'd still start wesley, I think he needs to spend more time with the team and get into the box. Against Burnley he will get that chance
  5. Agreed, target for the next 3 has to be 5-7 points.
  6. Confused by some of Smith's comments. He indicates he wanted us to push on and get a third but the players dropped deep. Suggests its not his in game management, more the players not executing his wishes.
  7. I think Remi Garde would have something to say about that. Very good for large parts of the game, mistakes cost us. Arsenal away wont define our season.
  8. gutted but thought we gave a great account of ourselves. From finishing 5th in the championship to running arsenal very close at the emirates is some serious progress. This team will continue to improve. Disappointing the way we conceded, midfield did excellent. Great to finally see some creativity.
  9. Cant understand any thoughts around him not playing. One of our few top class premier league players. Has to play.
  10. I dont see wholesale changes, I expect us to try and be difficult to beat until we have played more games as a team. I wouldnt be surprised to see grealish play further forwards though, once weve bedded in marvellous and luiz
  11. You add her fan id to your account. Order two tickets and then select her id for one of the tickets (it will make you do this).
  12. Most fans seemed to predict a finish in or around the relegation spots. As such surely the expectation is we would spend time in the bottom 3. If you dont want to do a Fulham the answer is to keep the faith in your management and then systems that got you promoted.
  13. Not sure I agree here, I think we'll see a well established starting 11 and others filling gaps around injuries. Cant see hause getting a game, hourihane will be used mainly from the bench. Wesley will pretty much play every week
  14. Agree with this, he looks so comfortable as a prem player.
  15. Dodgy start, recovered well. Our fullbacks seem to play very narrow though.
  16. Grew into the game well, started to link up play and bully opposition. Needs to get into the box.
  17. I think it's more important to allow the team to settle and get to know each other, wouldn't tweak the back 4, they have probably looked the best part of our team. Maybe I'd put in targett, the team needs time.
  18. Terrible first half I thought but grew into the game. Looks a very good player, just needs to gel with others. Often thought there was too much space between him and grealish, mcginn. Superb goal.
  19. I think jack will benefit from giving that goal away against spurs. He'll be hurt by it and it will serve as a quick reminder of where his performances will be for 90 minutes every week. Expecting him to shine next weekend
  20. Reflecting on Dean's starting back 4 I do think he got it right. The chelsea back 4 yesterday had probably never played together and got unpicked for that reason. I dont think I can fault our back 4 for any of the goals. All that said, I'd like to see targett for the Bournemouth game.
  21. Smith talked before the game about 3 of the back 4 having played 16 games together. I think the logic was, we'll spend an afternoon defending, that back 4 needs to be as well drilled a unit as possible. Taylor did really well, I would expect to see one of the two full backs change against Bournemouth. Both would be too much.
  22. Our back 4 was right yesterday, everybody said their praises. Our mistakes were in midfield and up front where they didn't do enough to relieve the pressure. For every goal I think our midfield had the chance to clear the ball or hold it up. Can see how any changes in the back 4 would have prevented that, especially 2 different fullbacks who are known to be more attacking.
  23. I distinctly remember thinking this about benteke. He looked dreadful in his first few games for us
  24. My thoughts as well, pre season can cloud a view, you play poor opposition at half pace. Throwing all of those players into a game where you need to be organised and know your team mate well was not the answer. We also dont know how many of these guys are ready for the prem yet, look at trezeguet and wesley, look to be promising but very raw. I'm not sure the champions league finalists was the right time to find more of that out.
