  1. not losing to qpr was the most important thing, failing to beat stoke though and we'll look back hoping we'd gone for it.
  2. Important today that we didnt lose. As long as we beat stoke at home, this will be a good result. If not ill be annoyed we didnt go for the win.
  3. not sure if youve been away for a while, but weve won 3 league games at home this year. When your playing a team who hasnt won all season, you go for the win.
  4. There may be something in it but doubt it's 6m. You would structure the whole deal based on appearances. Surely it made of goals, trophies, appearances, international caps. I just wish Lambert would stop lying, there's clearly a problem. If not he actually rates Bowery as a better option from the bench than an experienced goal scorer like bent. If that's the case we have bigger issues.
  5. Didn't realise til tonight but used to be very good friends with his sister. What could have been ;-)
  6. But he is letting it get in the way of what is best for the club. Bent is a better option from the bench than Bowery. There is surely no doubt about that.
  7. Agreed, were also seeing a game where the ball pings around the box. Clarks flick, Weimann chance, benteke chance. All tailor made for bent.
  8. Definite contact but no denying he threw himself to the floor and could have easily stayed up.
  9. Ive never thought Bent a team player, seams to not celebrate with the team and never understood how everyone over looked the whole shopping on a match day thing last year. I would say however that right now we need to score goals. He is without question a great goalscorer. We should find a way to make that work.
  10. I guess I was never one of those people. Always thought Barry was top class, an England international at an early age. I like Westwood, I just dont see him progressing to that class. Its an early opinion but thats what forums are for.
  11. agree with above, questions marks over KEA, Bennett and Bowery for me. Westwood looks good, it depends on what the expectation is these days really. For instance he isnt as good as Petrov, Barry or Milner for me.
  12. A great point today. I like what Lamberts trying to do but staying in the prem is absolutely essential for me. Some of his signings dont look good enough and 3 points against Reading is a must. A loss would leave me really nervous and think about whether we should have to make decisions I really dont want us to have to make.
  13. He may have made us look better, but has he made us easier to beat. Mcleish's football was horrendous, but we drew a lot of games as teams couldn't break us down.
  14. You must watching a different team to me as I seem to see a back 4 that consists of Lowton, vlaar, Clarke and bennett. I was under the impression that 3 of those were signed by Lambert. My points have been more that Lambert could have signed experience, he chose not to. I don't see why people think he will change his mind in January. January for me will only bring more of the same.
  15. out of interest, whats better? ive got the nexus 7, I cant imagine a better value for money device is available.
  16. where do i find the dinosaurs, i bloody love dinsaurs
  17. Don think I agree on Westwood. Looks tidy but we are badly missing a midfield presence.
  18. I dont see what difference giving Lambert more money will make. He had money in the summer and bought in 8 players with no prem experience. He bought pretty much a whole new defence and midfield which doesnt look good enough. Which of those players do we now expect him to replace? He has one of the premier leagues most consistent goal scorers but doesnt want to play him, he had the option of going back in for Clint Dempsey on deadline day but chose not to. The only options I see are to support his team and methods or not. I dont think money in January will suddenly mean a raft of experience premier league players.
  19. I meant in terms of the players we sign. Where we are in the league doesn't matter, only the money you offer the clubs and the wages you offer the players.
  20. Not for me, think he'd have scored one out of three and been quite happy. Recent events aside I dont think hes a team player and have said so for a while. If were selling, do it early, dont sell to a relegation rival, spend the money on a strong central midfield player with Premier League experience. Maybe one of the west brom pair, performances and league positions are irrelevant, transfer fees and wages count.
  21. I dont see why he felt the need to give the quotes but its doesnt bother me. Bent left sunderland for us when we were below them in the league, recently Lambert left Norwich for us when we had finished below them also. Why? Money. If Benteke performs well for us, he'll get a move to another club. As long as he earns it, he'll go with my blessing as Young and Barry did, If not ill reserve the right to boo him.
  22. Ive said for a few weeks, I could see a better return against the big clubs. Forced to concede possession and counter attack. Could work for us if we are tight defensively.
  23. Not a midfielder for me, would like to see him upfront but think hes to similar to Benteke, in that I mean he wants to get a yard and shoot. Always looking for the shot. Think Benteke needs a grafter next to him like Gabby, prepared to operate in the channels.
