  1. Has something happened? Would be useful if every 5 pages or so someone could summarise why we have 5 more pages.
  2. if you like korean food, on the Bab in Shoreditch is good. Kalamaki is a good takeaway greek place (not sure if you can sit), Meat Liquor is also one of my favourites for a burger.
  3. It's a big place, where abouts are you staying? Are you after a sit down type meal, evening, lunch?
  4. I always struggle to understand the difference between this thread and the labour party one.
  5. i was fortunate that i was already working from home 1-2 days per week so id invested in a good working environment. large desk, decent chair, good lighting, multiple monitors. work with so many people that were not set up to work from home and i really felt for them. A lot of my work is with India, you really got an insight into difficult working conditions talking to these guys on regular basis.
  6. i think i follow (im fairly sure im in agreement) just trying to highlight how people incorrectly interpret these guidelines. I've seen very few examples myself where people were not able to take annual leave. Ive seen lots of example where people havent wanted to or were happy not to. I work in Banking, as an industry i find it very unlikely that any role was not afforded sufficient annual leave. Id concede some roles would have been more difficult initially but weve been living with this for 5 months and people had adjusted.
  7. its definitely weird, i dont see myself returning to an office though so ive got to get used to it. Im fortunate enough to have an office at home and enjoy nothing more than closing the door for a week to do nothing in a different room in the house.
  8. ha, im not really sure what were debating here. in my industry, its been practical for everyone to take leave therefor no requirement to carry over. What we are finding is that a lot of people dont want to take it.
  9. but the extension only relates to industries impacted by COVID right and the carry over only applies if you have not had the opportunity to carry it over.
  10. I feel for your situation, ive seen lots of people go through this but fortunately havent experienced it myself. From working closely with all those people, the advice i would give is to accept it and move on quickly with minimum fuss. This might feel like a difficul thing to do if you've been wrongly treated but its highly unlikely you will change someones mind its also feels like you havent been with the company for a long period so its unfortunately unlikely that you would benefit from any increased protection. The stress that comes with fighting these things is rarely worth it and your efforts are best spent finding your next role. It may be worth asking if they any job seekers support? cv writing, training, connections into other companies. Its also worth making them aware that you would consider returning, working reduced hours (if this is the case). It sounds like youre in a manufacturing/engineering environment, that can be a very small world and leaving in the best possible circumstances may help you further down the line. Hopefully this doesnt come across as patronising, i was keen to offer a diffferent perspective. I really hope things improve for you.
  11. It very much depends on your role though. My company has not really had any barriers to taking annual leave other than people havent really wanted to. They announced early on that no additional leave could be carried over (were allowed 5 days with discretion) and plenty of opportunity to take it in advance.
  12. Is that really true, I thought post lockdown he had quite a positive impact from the bench.
  13. Maybe but to give tammy credit, I think he will want to fight for his place. Maybe in a years time if weve established ourselves a bit more I could see it. But this year hes finishing having scored a decent amount of goals in a top 4 side and weve just scraped out of relegation.
  14. I dont think tammy would see himself coming back. Scored a lot of goals in a club finishing in the top 4. I dont see him going from that a club that will probably be somewhere between 10th and 14th .
  15. I like the idea of a winger who can also play as through the middle. I see big wes coming back but we also need options to complement him or replace him.
  16. I'd love calum wilson, I think hes class and I've watched him cause us serious issues. Hes a proven prem goalscorer, something ourselves and many others crave.
  17. Even worse, we would be cutting ties after half a season. I cant believe people would consider selling. 1. He scored goals, not loads but some (our other strikers do not). 2. He played half a year in a largely brand new team. 3. Hes young and still developing
  18. Clyne out of contract, would fit the bill of prem experience, an upgrade on an ageing Elmo.
  19. I'm not sure how many prem clubs turn a profit, quite a few quickly turned to the furlough scheme and the wages they pay mean that very few would be looking to offload money. I wonder if the lower leagues should look at wage caps?
  20. But not his goals. I like Davies, things happen around him but he does not score goals. Wesley's could be so frustrating but looked likely to hit double figures. That would have put him in very good company this season. During the run in, I would have felt very confident in wesley getting a couple. Its essential that we have forwards who score.
  21. Wesley was on to score double figures of prem goals, that is one very big difference between the 2.
  22. Hmmm, I think that's possible a bit rose tinted. Struggled in recent years but I'd expect them to be back challenging for top 4 on a regular basis. We havent ever really done that.
  23. Simon Jordon Talks Villa Sporting Director Interesting words from Simon Jordon about villas change in sporting director. A bit more insight into the role of the sporting director. Generally positive, behind the character of Simon Jordon I'm often a fan of what he says
  24. I'm gonna stick up for TRO here (not something I thought I'd do). While he perhaps was a bit critical of Dean, what he really made a case for was that we earnt the right to play attacking football once we'd cemented a strong defensive footing. It looked for a while like Dean would not make that compromise. The change in style and subsequent success went along way in validating that opinion.
  25. Sorry mate, I was probably being a bit over sensitive. Right, I think wed sell him for 40m.
