i feel like its a case of not changing a winning side. trez has risen to the challenge so far and is looking dangerous. traore looked really good when he came on, ive not issue with these two battling it out.

Were all guessing really arent we, no idea how much we were paying one, no idea how much were paying the other. I'm just guessing that Barkely does not come cheap.

I think our business is done, going back to the purslow interview regarding the challenges of managing wages and investment in the first few years, we must be really pushing our budgets with the deals weve done. Barkley must have cost a lot as well as the number of new contracts weve given out. Of we dont get more off the book now, I can see any flexibility for players to come in.

I didnt think the club were that specific though I thought the argument had been more about not developing other clubs talents. Either way I take the point and also even if they have changed their mind, I'm ok with that. Barkley is an excellent loan signing who I suspect was beyond a club that had just finished 17th. I say this from a club and player perspective, I just dont see him joining permanently at that point in time and I dont see us being able to afford him right now. Hopefully a strong year will change that.

Liverpool certainly poor at the back but klopps summary was spot on. The way watkins played, he was unplayable for them. The only way they could have stopped him was to get to the person supplying Watkins and they failed to do that.

im less worried about a winger, id rather see a back up forward, centre half or left back.

also looked like deano tweaked the formation second half. trez played deeper to help sure up the right hand side, barkley pushing more through the middle, felt like a second man upfront at times.

I dont disagree, we need better, we just cant do that overnight so ultimately have to fill a squad with lesser players. Lansbury is one for me that can offer something if called on and seems a good fit for the squad.

I think a loan like this is very different, barkley is not a young player that chelsea are looking to see his development. No way back to chelsea for him. As long as we develop well, he plays a lot of games and he probably signs for us.

But why, hes on our books, hes not going anywhere, made some appearances last year, played in the cup this year. Look forward to the day that our squad is strong enough that even our second string is better than him but were nowhere near that yet. Would play before nakamba and Ramsey for me.

Hes not good enough for where we want to be but we need a squad and he scored important premier league goals last year. Great that we have been able to upgrade him but he will still be needed for 10-20 sub appearances I imagine. Great option from the bench.

Why leave out lansbury, important squad player and you are only a few injuries away from needing him. Dont understand the issue, performed strongly in the cup games and the whole point of squads is you have depth

So happy with this, another major improvement in the starting 11. This has been an excellent window. I'd like another forward player but not sure i expect it. If you take the business weve done and then consider how stagnant others have been, it's a massive opportunity to progress. Straight in vs liverpool, sorry Connor

I think it's such a tough game but you have to go in looking at your own positives. Weve been strong at the back, Jack is bang in form and we look like we have goals. Liverpool on the other hand have not looked as strong defensively as previous years. I'm not wearing my villa tinted glasses but if they have an off day and we are on it, we have a chance.
