  1. Wasnt a priority for me but hes 6/7 years younger than Heaton and dean has always been clear that he wants a senior keeper. This gives us 2. Further strengthens the starting 11 which is a priority. Wouldnt be surprised to see Heaton return to Burnley and Pope sold at some point.
  2. Hadnt appreciated the age gap which makes a case, I just didnt see it as a priority area and 20m at that.
  3. Not sure he would be first choice when Heaton is fit, does this suggest Heatons injury is much worse than thought?
  4. Never seen him play but we need goals and he looks like he scores them. My only worry with the fee is whether it costs us something else, if its 28m upfront, every million is money that can now not be spent on someone else. If FFP gives us a restricted budget we need to be wise to that.
  5. Is it time to lock this one. Feels like he was a target but as time goes on it looks less likely to happen. Can only assume that were apart on valuation of wages.
  6. And me, this is the worst type of trolling. I just dont understand why we need to spend 20m on a keeper. Is heaton crocked?
  7. I'd argue more than one year ahead. They got promoted have stormed the championship, we got promoted having finished 5th. I'm not even sure the team that stayed up last year would have won the championship. Were rebuilding but they are years ahead currently.
  8. Hard to judge a good player in a poor team, after lockdown, Jack arguably had his worst run in a villa shirt.
  9. Agree with this, we need to build a squad of competent players with a range of options and formations. He improves us for a relatively low fee. Sign him up and get another.
  10. Mine as well, he had a spell at cheltenham as well and regularly appeared in my local shop where I often serenaded him. Alan Wright Wright wright
  11. The year before, a team finishing 5th got promoted and managed to stay up
  12. I just dont understand why we are buying another keeper. Especially an older keeper on big wages.
  13. I've always been a big fan so excited by this. I wanted to see a balance of proven premiership experience and hes also a proven goalscorer at that level. Hes always looked solid against us and leads from the front, can play wide or through the middle and would complement a number of formations. Get him in, it's not my money.
  14. Got ya, just checking if id missed something. I'd like wilson, always rated him, especially against us.
  15. Is this in response to a link or just an opinion?
  16. Not for me, needs to include an allocation for STs, members, juniors, those with ticket history, away fans. Proportions should be weighted to reflect last years allocations (70% tickets for STs) else you prejudice those that couldnt afford seasons tickets, those that live away etc.
  17. Where are these players getting confirmed?
  18. Suspect its money as well, likely carrying a decent price tag and it doesn't really feel like the market will be doing a lot. In that respect it's a lot of money for something not proven.
  19. Surely how he deals with pressure comes into play when you buy him. Forwards are judged on goals and he'll need to deliver them. Whether its dealing with pressure on day 1 or following a 5-6 game streak without a goal we have to be confident he can deal with that. None of us can control the pressure and expectation he will face therefore its essential he can deal with it
  20. My son got one, hes a junior member, not season ticket holder
  21. You'll get no judgments from me trent, I'm here for the debate, be so boring if we all thought the same. Some of the challenge comes because we havent made moves yet. If we had signed rashica on benrahma then I agree, this is a move for an out and out striker. Without those players though, I dont know whether to interpret this as a move for a striker or a move for someone who could play across a front 3 and complement someone like wes.
  22. Other than tammy (which is very tentative) I think all of the players were linked with unfortunately come with question Marks. I think that's unavoidable if you're paying c20-30m for strikers/wingers. If you want to guarantee a bit more, you've got to pay more (and even then people will quote some flops)
  23. My thoughts as well, you cant judge a player on one game and if we do sign him, its Dean's job to get the best out of him. From what I've seen he could start through the middle of deployed wide supporting wesley when hes back. One of the main benefits is that he can play a range of systems and will complement other players.
  24. The survey had gone out to all fans, I assume it will be a mix but none of us really know yet. My guess is Club launches a new scheme that anyone can register for paying a premium to do so. The scheme allows 40k members and guarantees x tickets for every member. Season tickets holders are given the opportunity to enter first of all which dictates how many non season ticket holders can enter. You apply in a ballot for your ticket with the opportunity to ask for 1, 2, 3, 4 tickets. If successful you allocate seats to those that you are linked with in the ticket portal. A 'general sale' window exists after each allocation for any unallocated seats, open to those with a ticket history. Absolutely no basis for any truth in this just bored and guessing, what else have we got to do, not like were singing anyone.
