  1. I still dont feel comfortable at two nil. Another 2 and I'll relax
  2. Being subjective, I'd say they're had similar levels of success. I'm happy with Ramsey so far, I think his age shines through more than anything though. Performance wise I think lansbury was better in both games I watched which is why I'd rather see Ramsey on loan and still learning, he has potential to go further but needs to play games. Making the next step is the hardest.
  3. Solid window so far, I would be quite surprised by more signings unless others move on first unless loans. Does seem to me like we maybe short upfront but its likely the same for all clubs also in our position.
  4. Gregory just didnt come across as a likeable bloke to me, I liked that he was a villa fan but loved his own voice, so many stupid unnecessary media comments and also found him very limited tactically. A better manager would have walked the league with the players he had. Reminds me of Keegan at Newcastle, some great players but no idea how to get them to gel.
  5. All I keep hearing is that he would rather go to united. I'm sure you would mate but you've just been relegated with Bournemouth
  6. I'd like to see if we could establish a relationship with some of the stronger championship sides and get these players out playing games. So difficult to blood kids now, the pressure is on all the time that I only really see him featuring in the cups. Rather he was playing 90 minutes every week.
  7. No need for me yet, games in the cup again lower league opposition is a great chance. I thinks hes looked good but often that's because of his age. Lansbury for me has been better overall in both games. Ramsey just needs time, I'd like to see him with a year in the championship on loan.
  8. Very good, very clinical, good work out for the 2nd 11, game time for some others. Perfect cup performance.
  9. This guy is so good, such an improvement on anything we have. Those who dont think hes his potential dont understand his role. Hes not there to beat 10 mean and score from 30 yards. Hes there to help retain the ball, bridge defence and attack, supporting both. Such an improvement
  10. Isnt that the same argument for every prem team from about 8th downwards
  11. We should focus more on league position than points total. The points total will vary based on the strengths of other clubs. I think were all pretty much agreed that this years target should be to improve, hoping for that 8-12th spot but clear of relegation.
  12. One other big difference, the player gets a choice as well. It's a buy back clause with agreed fee. The key bit is to make the player feels special, show the intent of the club and make it so he doesn't want to return. Difficult I know.
  13. Would have been a massive signing, hes a guaranteed 7 out of 10 every week, loads of prem experience and would complement so many players in our side. Perhaps not a flashy signing but would have been one of the best we could make.
  14. its potentially an incredible deal, if they can get and keep him fit, hes an unbelievable player, interested to see how Mouinho plays him and who leaves to make way for him.
  15. i know, initially though im not sure we did. If spurs were less greedy they would have Grealish by now. im not sure out financial situation with FFP, i suspect we have made an offer but dont have much room to move. They will wait and try to get more.
  16. i suspect its a similar challenge to ours when we were broke. Spurs wanted grealish, we desperately needed cash, they tried to low ball us and hope we would take a terrible deal.
  17. That surely needs building over time when you can balance wages, investment and FFP. I agree with poster, we have watkins, Abraham wouldnt complement hed replace so wed be better spending money or strengthening another position.
  18. Barkley would be a superb signing, great mix of prem experience and a sign of a move up in quality.
  19. Maybe I'm wrong but we dont ever seem to send our youngsters to the championship only usually the more established players who you know are on their way out.
  20. My thoughts as well, he had a steady game and didnt look daunted but probably stood out due to his age. I thought the midfield 3 did well, win the ball back quickly and get it to jack. I dont think they needed to do anything special.
  21. Not really, but now you've really confused me. So I think you want benrahma as long as smith does NOT want benrahma BUT if smith does want him, you wouldnt trust his judgement and would now rather not have him?
  22. No one knows benrahma better than smith and we choose to sign this guy. That says to me either the benrahma money is too much, wages too much or attitude not right. Else why would smith not pursue?
  23. for a bit of context, us villa fans were largely happy when we managed to sell/swap Adama Traore.
  24. i think thats Martinez, im not convinced a new GK was ever in the plans.
  25. Also my worry, this was the situation with bale at spurs and Suarez at liverpool. Loads of money spent in the window, everyone happy then on the last day you sell the star to balance the books
