Lambert's tenure was a tough one for us but it was an important stepping stone to where we are now. We went from overpaid/old/shit to a much cheaper side with not a great deal of quality in it, managed to sell the best player from that regime, which in turn funded the next phase of the plan. We've modernised as a football club in this respect - where it's more about the club's plans and getting the right guy to fit the ethos, rather than just putting all of our faith into one guy and his methods. Sherwood is most definitely not behind all of this but he's certainly part of it. I'm keen to see how it plays out but I'm pleased with the way the club is being run at the moment.

Really? Wow... Was not paying attention to that. Ah well. I went from PS2 to Xbox, to 360, to One. One of my mates at work has a PS4, the other a One - I much prefer the Xbox controller, although the PS4 one is better than the PS3. In all reality, there's very little difference between the two IMO.

Any midfield line-up that we could feasibly put together is worse without Gana in it. He basically does the work of one and a half players.

I've finally had enough of FIFA - going back to PES this season, after converting to FIFA in 09. Them destroying Ultimate Team last season was the final nail in the coffin, for me. The stats of our players in UT for 16 isn't exactly enticing either.

We have Veretout but he's really not the same - we'll miss that engine because we don't really have anyone similar to Gana.

Of course it means something - it means that he's good at clearing the ball when it comes into the box. "Surely a great defender in a top team won't have cleared as many?" - What point are you trying to make here? I honestly don't understand what that has to do with anything. You don't get negative points for clearing the ball more time than someone else, it means that you're doing your job despite the team's failings.

Of all the players we absolutely need in the XI, Gana's the most important for me. Bad news.

It's impossible to prove either way, so it's just a redundant point at the end of the day. I think the important thing here is just to look to the future with what we have now and I think we're sitting in a better position than we were a few months ago.
