    Unai Emery

As I said, I wouldn't swap him in our situation. I do think it's foolish to dismiss the achievements of Guardiola though. If anyone could have done it, there would be many more examples of managers like him - but there aren't.

Well that's it really - it's completely situational. Emery was likely the best we could have got considering his experience and our standing at the time.

I wouldn't tbh. I know Pep's the best manager in the world but I don't care - I don't need the best - I love having someone who cares as much as Emery does and he's more than diligent and talented enough as it is.
  4. Thanks for posting that @Exeter Fan Too What are your thoughts on Sinisalo? Do you think he's ready to move up a level for his development (i.e. Championship club loan) or does he need another year with you guys?
  5. I remember at the time thinking that I'd be happy with top 10 if we won the Conference League
  6. I heard that he might be one of the players the police picked up last weekend
  7. Yeah I agree, but that's one of the most fundamentally important things for fans tbf. It's essentially our religion.
  8. To them, yes, and I understand that but we're not just a pair of trainers to the fans.
  9. Yeah, I agree 100%. I accept it for what it is but I still don't like hearing the club talked about like a product.
  10. Working in both football and England is a new experience for him, so it's a learning curve. I know it's necessary in this day and age but I really hate hearing about 'our brand'
  11. OK, I like it. But just so you know, I'm waiting for that patent to expire and the day it does... YOINK
  12. Doo doo doo, Baris Alper Yilmaz Done. Pay me.
  13. He learnt from the physicality of the prem and the knocks he took because that's what good players do.
  14. Yeah, I think so too. I have a feeling that the plan will be Torres - Mings - Konsa - New RB next season - with the RB taking the 'Moreno' role as we switch from back 3 to back 4 dependent on possession.
  15. I would hope we do a deal where Archer doesn't come back. I don't think we're going to get as much for him and I don't think he has a role to play for us.
  16. Versatile, fast, strong by the looks of it - so could well fit in the 'Moreno' role
  17. Yeah and vice-versa - he'll only be wanting to go to a CL club, you'd think.
  18. It also depends on the club selling and their particular situation. Norwich are more established as a club that doesn't sell their players on the cheap than Boro. They might see Rowe as being a player to get them up again (if they don't manage it this season) and that would be more valuable than the 25m or whatever they'd get for him.
  19. It really depends on what we've got to work with come the summer. CL qualification could well be the difference between the two options.
  20. That doesn't seem to matter that much these days. Rogers cost 8m up front going to 15m. Rowe would be the bones of 30m, you'd imagine.
  21. It's not so much greedy as unrealistic. There are so few clubs, if any, that can really do that and it's nigh on impossible to have 2 players of comparable quality in every position.
  22. Not a Rogers-type signing because he'd cost far more. Of course we want signings that fit right in and don't cost very much but they're very much the exception and not something that we should expect when we're shelling out relatively small amounts.
