  1. I don't think he knows his arse from his elbow.
  2. Sherwood's starting to shape up as being all mouth and no trousers. New manager honeymoon period wore off a long time ago.
  3. The sad thing is I really don't believe in us to turn this around. Sherwood's not the right guy IMO.
  4. This is the tragic thing about it all - all of those Gary, are memories - some tinged with success, some with nostalgia. We've not won anything for 20 years and even then, we're talking league cup. Not been up to much for ages.
  5. Really ? - I think we have a lot of unknown quantities - because they are unknown we all hope they could be diamonds. Gotta be honest though a couple of them already look like duff deals - and I feel a few more may fall into that category in the coming weeks. I fear we have very flimsy foundations.... Unknown quantities vs. People we know who can't cut it.
  6. I don't think it'll come down to that - I think the club has learnt to pull the trigger if things aren't working. The good thing is that any new manager coming in will inherit a much better team of players
  7. 1. Surely if his tackles are "last ditch" as you put it he is staying on his feet until the last moment before going to ground or making the challenge/block? 2. Generally when a defender makes a challenge it is more often than not in the final third and the last line of defence before opponents are in on goal. Most tackles are at the last moment as players are taught to stay on their feet as long as possible looking to intercept the ball before going to ground. It's what good defenders do! 3. Richards for all the crap from some about not being a CB, or too rash, or the general not good enough, has been absolutely solid carrying out his duties over the first 5 games at centre half. Okay he isn't McGrath, Laursen or Mellberg but he is a definite upgrade on what we have had the last few years and will get better. A massive plus for me having him and one of our stand out players so far. Out of all the posts I've ever read - I think this is the one that I disagree with the most. For ease, I've numbered the various points. 1. That's not what 'last ditch' tackling is and you know that. 2. No, they don't. Defenders make challenges within their own half and at many different times and it's not often that they'll commit if they are the last line. They have to stay on their feet and stay between the attacker and the goal, creating as much pressure as possible - only making a challenge if an opportunity to do so arises, or better still holding the opposition up until another player can double up and take the ball. 3. He really isn't an upgrade on Vlaar or Okore, a downgrade if anything. At 27, how is he going to make up for one of his biggest problems - his lack of experience in that position? You can't just pull it out of your arse. The thing that is most frustrating is that throughout this time, we've had to suffer Bacuna at RB, when we've got a guy who's a top 6 RB playing at being something he's not.
  8. He's battled relegation for 3 seasons, anyway.
  9. I think he might be the go-to guy for when Sanchez tires,
  10. I think some people (myself included) are more concerned about Sherwood than the players.
  11. The platform left by Lambert?? Are you having a laugh!?! Lambert left a sinking ship. The only good thing he did for the club was bringing in Benteke which has enabled Sherwood to embark on something of a rebuild required as a result of the wider mess Lambert left. It was never going to be an overnight fix. But compare our 2 x performances at Leicester (at the end of Lamberts tenure, and this one under Sherwood.) no comparison. Lambert left a cheap team with a couple of stars, the Benteke money allowing us to rebuild quite significantly this summer. That's what is known as a platform to work with. Compare that to what he inherited.
  12. It would serve you well to study what it is a CB should do because maybe you'd then start to understand where I'm coming from.
  13. Lambert got a longer grace period because he had a job that required it. Sherwood's brief is to build on the platform Lambert left and he's bought over 50 million quid's worth of players in one go. I certainly expect us to be able to hold a 2-0 lead away at Leicester at this point in his tenure.
  14. It was Dyer vs Guzan in the air? It seems you have some sort of vendetta against him as evidenced by the fact that you seem to be outright lying or making up things to criticize him with, in multiple threads :/ . You're right - he wasn't beaten in the air because that would have meant that he'd actually challenged for the ball, that the man he was marking headed in.
  15. Been saying this for weeks - glad I'm not the only.one who can see it.
  16. Must be hard playing behind a right back and a player who's getting on as your two CBs. Not exactly confidence inspiring.
  17. Defending Westwood's corners... Words just fail me.
  18. Well thank god you aren't in charge, Id be taking my ST back tomorrow if we replaced him with Fat Sam. Watching West Ham at VP last year made me actually feel sorry for West Ham fans, they were shockingly bad. Scored more, conceded fewer, more points, higher league finish. Couldn't care less about one game. Big Sam would probably want Richards at centre back though Maybe so but he wouldnt let a player dictate to him where he wants to play.

  20. Do you think we should drop him for Clark or Illori? yes - I think Clark is a better CB.
  21. I've said it before and I stand by it - he's nowhere near influential enough and goes missing for large portions of the game. Not good enough.
  22. I'm responding to the people saying that he played well today.
