  1. Makes you wonder what he did with it
  2. Indeed, we are always about 40/2 at best and eventually you're going to get occasions where the middle order crumble in a heap like this. I'm not sure there is a lot we can do except trying different players. Jennings is lucky Cook retired and avoid getting dumped before this winter. I'd be tempted to look at Denly instead. Thinking about it, Duncan Fletcher was our best batting coach, perhaps they could get him to work with the batsmen. I'm not sure what he is up to nowadays.
  3. It seemed strange seeing Thorpe and Collingwood in the Sky studio. Thorpe I believe has been the ODI batting coach and we've been the best in the world in that form, and he was an exceptional Test batsman too, and Colly is highly thought of. England Lions are on tour as well, and I believe Trott is out there with them as batting coach. Not sure how Ramps is seen as better than them.
  4. I've been giving tea a go, having always been a coffee drinker (well, since the age of 20 anyway). I had some visitors round after Christmas and the smallest box I could get from Tesco Express was 80 tea bags, so I've been drinking the odd cup here and there. It's alright. Probably should have been on the boring thread, but hey ho.
  5. In comparison to what's gone on since, keeping us in the Prem for a couple of years was a decent achievement, especially considering our recent transfer budget has been something he could never have imagined getting himself. He just took too many beatings by the end of it and he's not recovered from it. There was also all that stuff with his assistants/coaching team that probably didn't help him. I'm not sure who he works with nowadays.
  6. 'When it goes to penalties, it's a lottery'. Is it my arse.
  7. Yep Sky have just shown his mug at the cricket. Hard life.
  8. It may be one for the wrong opinion room but I don't really get why there's such a stigma attached to cultures that eat dog. Others turn their noses up at us eating pig for instance. If I went somewhere on holiday that did dog, I'd probably give it a go.
  9. Tbh I'd probably hold my powder dry in this window and save as much money for the summer when we will need a massive rebuild, even though we still have an outside chance of making a run for the playoffs this season. Like you say, maybe one more player but not a lot of activity other than that.
  10. I was going to say it sounded like something from the IT Crowd, a bit like when Roy loses his shirt
  11. Well thank **** for that, I thought we'd be stuck paying him til the end of the season.
  12. I believe they are all on Netflix at the mo and worth watching, albeit not as great as Silence Of The Lambs.
  13. Silence Of The Lambs, aged a bit but still a great movie. Discovered Thomas Harris has a new book coming out soon (not involving Lecter I don't think), I was wondering what had happened to him, I didn't realise he takes so long between books.
  14. I always get a bit depressed when there's talk of a player with actual footballing ability getting sold. More often than not they fit in somewhere else quite nicely and we end up no better off.
  15. 5 minutes of him dancing with a bird seems a bit of a weird tribute. Also being inspired to come out by a character who has a dido attached to an exercise bike for lols seems a bit odd but each to their own I guess.
  16. Not so sure about the Sutton bit, I even sided with Harry Redknapp against him on BT Score yesterday.
  17. It's the way he nods his head while he's doing it that sets me off What a pillock
  18. It's weird because when Murphy first retired and starting doing punditry I thought he was alright. Now he's just Lawro's heir as miserable ignorant tosspot and makes me want to put my foot through the TV.
  19. Is the Swedish league even going at the moment? I thought it ran from February or something like that. Seems a load of bollocks to me.
  20. I finished the series last night, I didn't really get the point in that last scene. I think you were right that there was some jumping of sharks throughout the whole series but it's nearly impossible to keep a sitcom going for this many series. I still find Frank and Charlie funny no matter what though.
  21. Probably got told that she has to admit publicly that she mustn't leave without buying one
  22. But why would they want to make her look weak, surely Question Time thrives on soundbites from the more, shall we say, eccentric characters in politics, especially nowadays. If I was one of the people running the show I'd make her loud and clear. I just don't buy it, especially when considering how shit quality a lot of the BBC's live output is nowadays.
  23. Mate I wouldn't even bother, some people just can't put things into context, it doesn't matter why and who's fault it is, it's shit so another manager isn't up to it and needs getting rid of. People saying it's as bad as Bruce, well yes but we were this shit with Grealish and Tuanzebe in the team under him whereas Smith transformed us in the time he had them available. If Smith could get this group of players playing consistent quality football he would be performing miracles. We need a massive clear out of players in the summer and then see what Smith can do.
  24. It never seemed like good value at the time we signed him but now just looks like yet another waste of time and money. I'll be glad when the summer comes and we will have a complete clear out.
