maqroll
Incredible. I can't recall a more bizarre Villa victory...totally outplayed for basically the entire game, but when we had our chances they were taken with precision. Simply astonishing. The bumpy ride continues...
GeordieVillan
When I saw our team I thought we might get a result (genuinely, read the match thread earlier on!). But I have to admit, the first half was really disappointing, we sat back too much and allowed them too much space and possession. Second half we played how I hoped/expected - direct, aggressive, and in Man City's faces. Credit to the manager, he picked a team of battlers, and they battled through. After 6 games, we have 3 wins, if we can carry that on, we'll finish with 57 points, which would a be cracking season. I would also note (and maybe one of the statto's amongst you can confirm this), comparing our results like-for-like to last season, we have 6 points more this year than we did from same 6 games last year, which is pretty impressive. Still lets enjoy it, but lets not get carried away, if City had capitalised first half....it could have all been so different....
Bunnski
Have absolutely no idea how we've won that game, we were dreadful But we did, lets take the points and sort out the performance later tbf the move for our first goal was nice. Started with Clark picking a pass out of defence and we worked it all the way up the pitch with good passing. Big Ron motm for me but Bacuna, Luna and Andi played really good also. Guzan for once looked dodgy yeh the move on the first goal was nice, but it was also offside Ha so were all of Man Utd goals against us in Old Trafford last season

Popular Post heid3ster
I'm sitting here in front of my TV, still expecting City to somehow come back and win it. Cannot quite believe this.

swaib2004
Play crap and beat the best team in the premiership... Clinical. Some 100% committed performances in there tho even if the quality at times was lacking. Get in
Panto_Villan
I had to switch off at half time because I'm visiting the family and my dad wanted to watch the rugby.
Popular Post Bunnski
So we have played Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City in 4 of our 6 games and we are in the top half of the table and 2 points ahead of Man Utd. That'll do for me

Fab
El Ahmadi's movement off the ball in box was quite something today. Really evolving as a player.

StanBalaban
Delighted, amazed, stunned!!!! There's so much for us to work on in terms of our play, passing, movement, defending - even Guzan's distribution, but how nice is it to do so with 3 points in the bag and tails flying high? Fantastic!!!
poitier
An incredible result which defies all logic and was completely unrepresentative of the match, and finally some helpful linesmans decisions. We will never get a luckier 3 points, let's enjoy them.
Dodgyknees Posted September 28, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted September 28, 2013 when i saw the 352 formation i thought lambert was on crack, dire stuff in the first half, never thought we would do great against them but surley we could do better than that... lambert and the team clearly showed we could in second half, lovely freekick from bacuna I think the players took a while to get used to not having Benteke.
